iam sooooo so so sick of people giving mitchell pearce crap! He is an amazing player and he loves the club. What more can we want. We need more players like him. He is going to be a roosters4lyf because he has pride and passion in the jersey. Long live mitchell pearce!!!!!

He was a popular target because of the whole off-season signing bs. Too much pressure to put on a young half. The position of a halfback at Parra is a poisoned chalice ever since Sterling retired.

The kid was hit with 2nd year syndrome. He is not as bad as some make out.

Sure, he was overhyped by the media partly due to his name and his appearance, but lets not forget - he had a cracker of a first season.

Considering, he wouldn't be on great cash, it is a great signing for a club struggling with halves depth.

Only a dope would write him off at his age.

I agree with all of this.

Will our attack be 2nd phase centered in 2012? Was the style of play that Parra used in 2009, seeing that our forwards can be a strong point and especially if SBW actually does sign.

I think its a rubbish Signing.

What we have done today as a footy club is go BACKWARDS nothing more.

He better not be getting a first grade spot, he should be playing for newtown.

he also should be on no more than $70,000.

          Unbelievable !

I'm happy with the signing if he came cheap as we need some back-up in the halves. Will be interested to see if Smithy uses him as back-up though or whether Anasta will end up back in the forwards.

I reckon it's a good signing. The bloke does have some talent and with Pearce doing the organising Mortimer will be able to mix his game up a little. I reckon Parra will be paying at least half his salary for 2012 if not 2013 (can't remember how long his Parra deal was for).

I doubt Daniel will cause us any grief off the field. He seems a decent well bought up young bloke. And he already has a good mate at the Club in Anthony Mitchell.

Compared to other recent signings, this is a goodun. Not that the club has set the bar very high in that regard.

Anasta must be playing golf next year.

Im under the same banner as everyone, I don't rate him really, but he's joined the chooks an we got to support him. I think potential is there he's just down on confiedence he has the potential to only fill in when need be. I'm guessing he's on the cheap an he hasn't got any off field problems yet. One thing he does to an that's try he puts in for a small guy!

                        I like the signing.

With a bit of support, and some confidence, he may just get himself back in the form he was in a couple of seasons ago.

mostly likely the club has bought mortimer as a front rower to replace ryles
