The kid was hit with 2nd year syndrome. He is not as bad as some make out.
Sure, he was overhyped by the media partly due to his name and his appearance, but lets not forget - he had a cracker of a first season.
Considering, he wouldn't be on great cash, it is a great signing for a club struggling with halves depth.
Only a dope would write him off at his age.
I agree with all of this.

What we have done today as a footy club is go BACKWARDS nothing more.
He better not be getting a first grade spot, he should be playing for newtown.
he also should be on no more than $70,000.
Unbelievable !

I reckon it's a good signing. The bloke does have some talent and with Pearce doing the organising Mortimer will be able to mix his game up a little. I reckon Parra will be paying at least half his salary for 2012 if not 2013 (can't remember how long his Parra deal was for).
I doubt Daniel will cause us any grief off the field. He seems a decent well bought up young bloke. And he already has a good mate at the Club in Anthony Mitchell.
Compared to other recent signings, this is a goodun. Not that the club has set the bar very high in that regard.

Im under the same banner as everyone, I don't rate him really, but he's joined the chooks an we got to support him. I think potential is there he's just down on confiedence he has the potential to only fill in when need be. I'm guessing he's on the cheap an he hasn't got any off field problems yet. One thing he does to an that's try he puts in for a small guy!
