I am prepared to give him a chance and see how he goes.
Cayless was unable to force his way into a regular position in a star side. Mortimer could not get into the team running second last and was playing poorly for Wenty.

We were laughing at the Eels for signing Brett Finch. They are laughing at us for signing Mortimer.

I didn't see much NSW Cup, but he got an honourable mention at 5/8th for the NSW Cup team of the year. Doesn't sound like he was playing that poorly.

"I'm rooting his mum and said he could play for us if she put out"

            I've always liked that one.

Alot of the blame was heaped on him last year...both Mateo ans Inu said there were problems that were beyond the players control.
Don't see how it would affect how they played, but they all played crap, not just Mortimer.
Im willing to give him a chance

I really do wonder how many posters on here would eat their words if Mortimer has a decent season.

                My guess - hardly anynone.

Easy to sink the boot in.

                  "Can cover a few positions".

In other words, is not good enough to cement his own position.

Exactly, I'll judge the young bloke once he's actually played a few games for us. He has played well for Parra in the past and I have hope that he will play well again, given a decent opportunity.

He wouldn't be the first player to relish a new beginning and go gangbusters. He has plenty of motivation to prove himself.

That is what Parra supporters were saying about Finch.

He will be good off the field and with the media
He has a point to prove

Finch may not be looking so bad to Parra supporters after a half a season of the Sandow/Roberts combo. Not sure that's a suitable halves pairing.

I'm willing to give the kid a chance.

Parra are a rabble atm and Kearney is probably the most over-rated coach in the comp! It doesn't help that their forwards are a bunch of nuffies either.

He'll win us a few games imo.

Mortimer was a dud in 2010 also.. Kearney wasn't around then..
