Who cares really I could not give a shit about this stuff it’s not important - commercial journalism is all this is - they will write a negative story about the club everyone is jealous of and loves to hate because more people want to read that. Big deal.

Go the chooks all I care about right now is Saturday nights results - the papers can write whatever they want as long as Sunday mornings papers say the chooks are in the big dance.

They gave away thousands of freebies to the Souffs v Womanly game last weekend, our game will get the usual 15000/ 20000 roosters fans and maybe 5000 travelling Storm fans

Yep. They know who their readership is and they know what sells papers. Rooster-bashing (and anything city-related for that matter) will help fuel their hatred and make them feel better about their crap teams.

Yes I received an email last week saying I could get free tickets to the Vermin game as my son son was a registered touch footy player.

i know for a fact schools etc were getting free tickets for last weeks Souths manly game - no mention of that. I think they do this for most Sydney finals in big stadiums for finals - especially with out of Sydney teams playing!

then they say the game is tracking for 25k, hoping for 30k+ with a good walk up - that’s pretty good for one Sydney team at the scg! There will hardly be any storm fans but we get bagged because it’s easy to report on the we’ve got no fans bullshit where there isn’t anything else to write about

just gives other fans and media ammunition to talk shit about us, just like the whole Tedesco contract thing fuelled the salary cheat stereotypes

bring on the hate, bring on the nothing stories to put us down - they only do it cause they have nothing on us and hate being jealous of our club being on top

              up the chooks
Thank you for sharing but I’ve read the article and it mentions the giveaways to the manly Souths game TWICE!
seriously when did we become so sensitive and resort to pity ? We are roosters and we do our talking on the field not by writing misleading rubbish

Again with the Roosters "modest fan base".

That's just crap...wonder why this has become part of regurgitated footy illogic for media and opposition fans?

The masses need to check the average crowd stats for the past decade.

The Roosters are far from the bottom, but let's bag them anyway.

I posted again after I read again and acknowledged I missed that part as I had stop reading halfway through the rubbish and couldn't go back into the article with the paywall

My main point was they didn't make their giveaway a stand alone news piece

Much be a slow news day.

Running out of dribble to write about.

                      Loving the Roosters hate.

                      Fark em.

For us, we just add it to the "hate meter" .

And then enjoy our success, and let the losers please themselves.
It's a preliminary final (not a grand final) and we're against a made up team that doesn't really have fans. Add to this the fact that clubs always give out free tickets to various groups and like... so what?

Like the last GF, I expect there to be a lot more Chookies fans than Storm fans. Also, I doubt any neutral fans will be cheering for the salary cap cheaters.

So the Raiders sold out in 2 seconds? Well no shyte. It's a single club city with a stadium that holds ~20,000.

A mate of mine sent it to me about a month ago. He said it was current, can't remember which publication, maybe the Herald. Is away at the moment, will check when back.

My brother was offered 4 free tickets to that game through his son's school.

Such hype in Canberra. They are playing their GF one week too early.
