I've mentioned it before on here but I met ikin at a wedding I did a function for back in 2014.

The moment I mentioned I was a chook, he just glazed over like I had literally vanished in front of him.

At least ashley Harrison was more accommodating. Bloody skinny tho, I don't know if he was on the gear that night but when it came out later it made sense.

Of course raiders fans want it more, it’s their first grand final in a quarter of a century, doesn’t mean we won’t win it.

I dont agree with that sentiment at all - that a team which isnt as successful wants it more or worse still.. that they are more deserving because they havent been there before!

i want to win every game like it's the last. Investing a lot into this team means their schedule dictates mine. The $ spent on gear or going. The emotion tied to every outcome. The arguments I have with rooster bashers.
So I'd sooner Ikin just come out with what he really wants to say... I don't like the roosters, raiders are more likeable and I really want them to win.
Instead of hiding behind his opinion he passes off as this deep intellectual razor sharp analysis.

as for our team, the fact they're here in the last 2 speaks volumes about their desires. when they won in 2018 the pursuit was reached, the obstacle overcome, there was nobody left to defeat.

its arguably why b2b is so hard.

Our club felt enough fulfillment in 2018's accomplishment to invest more resources into the next time.

So I would have expected such a keen learner and intellectual reviewer of every sports club and book in the world to quite enjoy the journey of a club travelling down this path! But as others have suggested the tall poppy creeps in, and in the end Ikin tells on himself, it's clear he's just another hater using the Raiders to insult us.

Was funny listening to Tallis on Sunday driving back from Sydney, he was asked why he hates the roosters and gives them a hard time.

He said one of is best mates is a chooks supporter, and at every opportunity this guys sends him texts, videos and more about how good the roosters are. So he said it has just snowballed over the years and now his natural response is to bag them back whenever he can.

whether true or not, it’s a great stir when Tallis can annoy his mate (and the rest of the chooks supporters) publicly so easily.
