with league and ikin you're probably right. He curiously admires dynasties in other sports though, and probably considers himself on par with great minds like robbo, bellamy.

Just can't wait to see that shit-eating grin wiped off his smarmy face.

Just apologise for using a word that wasn’t appropriate and move on. Every time you try to defend yourself, you are only making it worse.
I sincerely apologise if the words I used to describe Ben Ikin offended anyone, I am sorry for doing that and that was not my intention. It was an offhand comment aimed at someone who has a hatred for the club I love

You're on fire lately chopstiks. That last sentence of yours is a pearler.

I Remember Ikin and Kent talking up our fan base and chants after last years GF. Now Ikin, in every show this week, talks about how we”ll have no fans there and it will be a sea of green.

Don’t think I remember the media ever being so one sided for a GF ever. In the old days the media praised a great side on a glory period..These days they turn on you.

If we win they will flip back and talk about how wonderful we are and that Robbo is the best coach in the game.

All I can see through my crystal ball is one side of the stadium quiet with a shade of envy green.

It's quite amazing really. At least the print media is more balanced if not covering more Easts positive articles.

But the tv and radio are so focussed on one team it's bizarre. Even last night Kent, Read, Hooper and co. were smirking at the salary cap theme and kind of mocking Bouris comments.

What happened to the old days where media would be talking up a "great game"..."two best teams"..."both deserve to be there"...."mouth watering clashes". Ive heard none of those comments.

                    It amounts to disrespect.Nothing less.

Pretty much what they're paid to do? Welcome to the world of media...

                        My work gets:
                        - Canberra Times (all green, funnily enough)
                        - The Age (no NRL... none... something something... their whitewash GF was actually a quality game)
                        - The Australian (mixed greens/Easts)
                        - The Tell-u-cr@p (mostly Roosters TBH... hate them but they are behind us... Sydney v Canberra kinda mentality)
                        - The Fin Review (only one of the above worth reading but no sport)

I understand the underdog theory, and that most neutral fans will be hoping for a Raiders win, or even a close game. I think the press have to talk the raiders up to maintain any real interest amongst the general public. But I also think that our boys will benefit from this anti Roosters press. If we get off to a good start and put 2 or 3 tries on them in the first 20 minutes the crowd will come back to reality. I honestly think we will win by 20 plus.

I think the glory of League v VFL is that the Raiders are in with a fighting chance. While Canberra's a capital city, it's a comparable size to Wollongong, Newcastle, Townsville...etc. You don't see that kinda coverage in VFL and when an underdog gets a shot, they get done 100-0.

We'll have to work hard this weekend and absolutely nothing is guaranteed. The footy fan in me says that this will be a good game. It's exactly what the comp needs and the timing is perfect, coming off a complete farce of a VFL final.

Rugby League commentary is lowest common denominator stuff. That's because most League fans are certified half wits.

Anything on Fox or in the Tele is just deliberately controversial or fist thought stuff. It's for dummies.

It's not worth getting upset about.
