There was a NFC conference game in 17 or maybe 18.

The "clap" at that game shook the stadium.

Chanting EASTS after the clap is the way to go

As the higher qualifier we should run out onto the field second meaning that the clap would happen before our guys are on the field.

              1. If the 'horn' (prop that looks like a horn) is 'played' (a horn sound plays over the PA system while somebody stands near the prop) then it'll be at the start as some tokenistic BS. I'm not worried.
              2. There is no special 'viking clap'. Even at Raiders home games, it's just a high school 'RAIDERS [clap clap clap] RAIDERS [clap clap clap]' (usually nobody's there and it's just the PA system encouraging them to clap when they are down 30-0). Without any organisation at all, Roosters fans seem to be able to piggy-back off the PA system's clap noise and drown our the karaoke-style 'RAIDERS' backing chant by yelling 'Roosters'.
              3. This is a GF so there will be no biased MC, no horn after 'home' tries and we should have more fans to drown out the bloody Raiders.

I was listening to that idiot Lara Pitt on the podcast they do last night. She was saying that she loves the viking clap. When asked about the guttural "Easts" or the "Roosters" chant she said she hated them and that they were revolting and unoriginal. She even made the vomit sound. Add her to the list.

I love the guttural "Easts". Absolutely love it. I was speaking to Horrie a few years ago and he said that it was his favourite by far when he was playing too. Can't wait to hear it this weekend.

Gus Worland was talking about the plan to shout EASTS after the clap on MMM this morning.

                  It's getting out there.

                  It's going to sound awesome.

                  Fucck Canberra and their bullshit.

That last sentence sums my view up pretty accurately. As for lara pitt and her comments regarding the Roosters chants, it would appear that being impartial isn't a priority.

All part of the confected nature of the game these days - tradition means little. If they see something that has authenticity within another code, they try and drag it to our game in a completely contrived manner.

When you don't have the fan base - there is always the PA to give it volume.

The bigger and more fake the idea, the more the NRL media flies feverishly service it.

EASTS will have a historic, authentic and strong presence and we will express our support for our club as we see fit and will not be subject to some NRL contrived moment.

The blowing of the horn is not the national anthem

The number of people desperately finding reasons to pick Canberra is funny.

Matthew Johns has picked against us in seven of the last eight finals games.
