That's where my brother sits, went and visited him there on Saturday, view pretty good and I noticed for the game they had set up a carvery in the bar at the back. Used to sit in the front row of the upper deck of the Ladies for the Swans games but got sick of getting there before the gates open and then running to get the seats, now I just reserve seats in the Noble if I go to the Swans and also sit around the same spot for the Roosters games, usually don't have to reserve the seats for the Roosters but did for Anzac Day and the two finals games.

Obviously the viewing at any oval isn’t as good as a rectangular ground but wow the boys have really made it a fortress and a home.

Have we warmed up to the old girl yet as supporter base?

Personally I’ve always liked the place it as it’s where I watched gfs and test matches as a kid so it’s kind of sentimental to me.

I do believe it offers us a real home ground advantage that doesn’t exist at the sfs due to the shape.
      The good:
      - We have a stadium that we can call home and our record's pretty solid there.
      - The booze lines (for ~$10.50 fukkin' Carltons) are pretty quick. Great system where you just grab your beers then tap on your way out.
      - The view's pretty good. People get all picky about stadiums and sure... in Row B of O'Reilly (just about as close as it gets) I was still a fair way back from the field. However, I had no trouble viewing the game and turning to my right a little for close-ups and replays.

      The bad:
      - Saturday night was kinda subdued. Maybe just me but despite having so many fans around, I didn't hear the chants really get going until the last 10 minutes (maybe because it was such a tense contest?) I still remember how frigging amazing the last game v Souffs at the SFS was. To be fair, our week 1 final was on par.
      - It's a cricket field that's very much setup for well eeem... cricket. Doing my best not to offend cricket fans, to me cricket at best involves a big long day, lots of rests and lots of food/beer. Whereas, footy is 80 minutes of intensity (so you're not constantly going to and from the bar because you'll miss everything). AFL's similar because you have quarters.
      - It's a little bit hodge podge. Like... they built the old stuff and have stapled on various 'stands' throughout the years without any obvious centralised plan. It becomes kinda annoying going up and down random stairs/escalators through 'stands' to get to your seat. I'm used to it, but just saying.
      - The SFS was fine and all the political BS surrounding it still bugs me. $1 billion is way too much for basically the old stadium but with a new slab and a new layout. Stadiums are basically concrete, metal and dummy walls. I despise the fact we've wasted so much money in such a senseless manner.

      ---

Overall: a bit like the first little 1br apartment I purchased, I still give it a 10/10 coz I know the alternative too well. Once I'd bought a couch + a table, I could chill out with some music and a glass of red quite happily knowing I was at home.

The SCG is the same. It's a lovely area and any negatives aside, sitting in the O'Reilly stand feels like home. The experience of walking across Moore Park (past the pub for a few schooies) is still the sam and winning still feels just as good, but above all... I appreciate the fact we've got a little place in the world that we can call home.

Lippy for the 7 games that I attended this year I sat in heaps of spots in both the Members & the Ladies. The top tier front of either stand is excellent because there is no polls but you cant take alcohol out there so thats why I have sat in different spots or stood in the bar area to watch the games. The best is after the game when you get to feel like a kid again & get to pat the players on the back as they make there way to the dressing rooms.

In my opinion it’s turned out better than expected. After getting wet in week 1 through a leaking roof in the lower Bradman (Souths) to Dally Messenger stand - Anzac Say then later in the year sitting in the bottom part of Victor Trumper (Radley) (Broncos, Tigers to sitting upstairs in the Bradman (Newcastle, Titans) to the last 3 games upstairs in Victor Trumper - bay311/3122.

Will return to Victor Trumper upstairs next year. Food was better in the Bradman. In VT you have to queue twice - once for a pie and drink (pie cart) and then separately for chips. Who doesnot have all those three together. This will need to be fixed as it’s painful enough having to queue once.

Otherwise the team team have listened to us and tried really hard to improve things.

Been there 3 times this year,
Happy for the team to keep playing there and winning,
and I’ll be happy watching from a big screen tv until Anzac Day and home semi again.
