  • F*ck them all, embrace the hate!

The rugby league media and so called “impartial” fans are an absolute disgrace. What a beat up. The correct decision was made, the process to get there was appalling. At worst the Raiders were robbed of a 2nd kick. How that equates to being robbed of the title, given the Roosters conceded 3 tries the entire finals series, is beyond me.

Reality is, a shocking sin bin should have robbed the Roosters (if the Raiders were good enough). I have no doubts there would be no faux outrage had a decision changed to go the other way.

It’s nothing short of tall poppy syndrome and sour grapes. All it has done is detracted from a fantastic achievement.

    Amen brother Waerea - preach!!!

You have captured how I’m feeling about the Rooster-hating reporting. What amazes me is the singular lack of logic being exhibited with respect to #6again-gate. The assumption is that with another set the faiders would have certainly scored a try to hit the front which ignores the Roosters defensive resolve. I should know better than to expect better from the media.

That is the most frustrating part of it and the stupidity of the media. They didn't deserve another set, they weren't denied another set, they were denied a last tackle kick.

The only thing the faiders weren’t denied was the opportunity to dubiously claim the moral high ground by being supposedly gracious in defeat and that was one of only two opportunities they fully grasped last night.

Correct, they couldn’t score against 12 men, who says they even got a repeat set. They got stiffed of a chance to kick and that’s all

Heres what i cant get my head around......

Semi final Storm vs Raiders. Storm short kick off, Vanivalu takes it and the touchie incorrectly rules him out. Storm denied a set of 6 to win the game.....but thats footy and theres nothing to say The Storm would have scored.

Come the GF and the refs end up getting the call right- yet apparently Canberra being denied that set of 6 that they shouldn't have got was the reason they got "robbed". Seems like it was at least supposedly a certainty that Wighton would have secured another set of 6 if the refs didn't initially call 6 again.

Funny how it was ok when Whitehead dropped the ball getting up from a tackle and Cummins ruled lost- then Sutton incorrectly calls out stripped and Cummins reverses his first call!

Random, what you've done there is employ this thing called common sense, and common sense has no place in the reactionary twit-sphere world in which we live.

That the dominant theme today in the media is that the "waiders were wobbed" rather than the Roosters making history is a disgrace.

Correct on every point except not certain that Melbourne would have scored. My point is that with that call going their way, the Storm were denied the opportunity of a legit 6 tackle set.

This decision was the correct one, just not correctly delivered but still the correct call.

Ive just rewatched it again and I am of the opinion that Whiton had ample opportunity to see it was changed as it went through 2 or 3 sets of hands after the call was changed. Crying victim was their fault. No one else’s.

This is how the media works they grab a 5% bite...in this case 6again, & with support of the gullible public build a 95% narrative. Presto Fake news.

Rival fans and the media would rather a wrong call went against the Roosters. That's what it boils down to.

100%. If they got 6 again and scored nobody would give a shit that we got ripped off. Fcuk them all and their crocodile tears.

Brilliant post Beast, probably the best since our victory on here.

What do the whingers expect SHOULD have happened then if they don't like what did. They can't be awarded six to go as no Easts player touched it. What would they have the referees do?

They had a shitload of opportunities to score and our defence was just too good. It was outstanding...that should be the headline. If we had that amount of chances the score blows out for them. They should not complain. They did well, focussing on a tiny irrelevant part of the game disrespects their effort too.

The obsession with one very minor call is quite stunning, even for Easts haters. But now it's been created and passed on we can't erase it. My call now is to not give it anymore oxygen. Let's just celebrate this great club and it's achievements this week.

Haters gonna hate. Winners can laugh, losers can please themselves.

I rewatched it as well and said the same thing. They knew the Ref changed the call but wanted to play the victim. He hardly had a chance to kick anyway so ran at the line and then cried victim.
Great defensive resolve from the Roosters and then the Raiders couldn’t back it up. We put a set play on and they couldn’t handle it.

Back to back premiers is sure to attract heaps of jealousy. But we earned it. It’s a real concern that the CC medal has twice been denied a rooster team despite winning the GF by a Raider dominated and biased group of selectors. If you look at the stats any number of our players beat Wighton and helped us achieve what he could not do for his team. I suppose raider sentiment seized the Raider panel but justice and fairness should always be associated with the CC medal and not bias. The CC medal has now become an absolute joke and farce.
