its returned in bonus bets i think- so you need to punt it again before you can take it out. Its a great marketing strategy- look at how many news outlets have reported it. The average punter out there would think these guys are great to bet with.
Truth is they are arseholes. They mainly give unders with their odds, and if you consistently win they cut you off- and yes they cut me off limiting my bets to $10 without officially telling me why " its in our terms and conditions when you signed up- no reason needs to be given". So they really only take stupid mug punters- and the profits go overseas. Find a Aussie owned bookmaker if you feel the need to punt.
“We grieved as a nation last night as (James) Tedesco crossed the line, and after such a remarkable season, we thought it’d only be just to refund the loyal Canberra supporters,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Rich Hummerston.

Yep. Don't for one minute believe there is a conscience in this decision...misplaced even if there was.
Corporate bookies aren't really there for the punter alas. Stick with TAB or Betfair. Now excuse me while I top up my Bet Easy account..
You're spot on RR. I'm with sportsbet and backed New Zealand to win the Cricket World Cup earlier this year.
I was refunded my bet by way of a Bonus Bet for the same amount as my outlay. That was when a team was actually robbed. The Raiders weren't robbed at all.
"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".
The amount of money on the Raiders would have been minimal and paid out in bonus bets.
I doubt they would have refunded the money on the Roosters if the same thing happened purely because of the amount to be paid back.
Also some betting agencies have restrictions on the odds you can put a bonus bet on and some even require you to turnover any winning amount before you can withdraw. Not sure what these are with SB.
Basically it would be a very minimal payout once all bonus bets are "re-invested" as the majority of punters will lose any of those winnings as well.
Purely a PR stunt but why not hop on the bandwagon to gain more losing customers.

Unsure of the odds you can bet on but up to $50.00 (refund) with sportsbet.
