Since Greenberg found it necessary to give Barbara Smith a ring as a sign of appreciation of her support and encouragement to Cameron to keep on playing in Melbourne, maybe our club can give Tara Rushton a ring to express our gratitude and appreciation of her encouraging and luring Cooper to Sydney, otherwise the storm would be celebrating a three peat this year.

Got nothing but respect for Tara.
Interesting to speculate what would have happened if Coops had stayed in Melbourne. We'll never know, but the Storm probably wouldn't have won the last two comps. You need a lot to go right to win a comp.
Our success, our magnificent success in the last two years wasn't just because we had Coops, it was also because we had a team that really respected him. Would be ridiculous to say that the Storm didn't respect him, but with Cam Smith such a dominant figure, I think coming here meant he could be in a league of his own. I'd put our win in the GF last year partly down to the rest of the team playing so well cos they were inspired by Coops taking the field against all odds. This year? The sin binning was a bit like Villisanti's hit on Freddy in 02. The team responded brilliantly, rallying around a leader and the rest is history.
