there was actually a very good reason for the decision, if NSW is investing so much in the new / updated stadiums they deserve to keep the GF.
Besides that it would make me physically ill to have a GF in QLD

Suncorp in my opinion is the best ground to watch league at since the SFS is not open. A grand final there would be a sellout even if no QLD team makes it.
I'm a traditionalist. Rugby league started in Sydney and should have it's GFs in Sydney. The AFL has its GFs in Melbourne and talk of anything else would be considered blasphemy.
Though I can understand the reasoning on both sides of the argument.
There was a finanacial obligation to play it in Sydney, but I don't think it would've hurt the game taking it to Brisbane and playing it in a far superior football stadium than the SGC.
Having said that, nothing like playing the GF on your home ground.
