Keyboard I have a confession to make...during our Chookpen outage following the GF I wandered into a Souths forum to check the mood. It was dark, brooding and very accusatory.

I've heard the word butthurt used on here, but I don't think it does them justice. Some of them (Not all) hate us with such a passion and refuse to believe we achieve anything without rorting, favours from officials or general crimes against the spirit of the game.

Boy...I am so glad I support this great club. Clubs like theirs will never rise to the top again while they live with excuses and negativity to the game they purport to love. It's self-defeating.
Wow man, you really must have had a monkey on your back to stoop to that level.

Yes, their paranoia supports a hefty shoulder chip.

I think Latrell will go to Souths. He will want a new challenge and be at souffs.

If it's a new challenge he wants, he should steer clear of Souffs. When this line was being peddled earlier in the year, Latrell shut it down, saying he wanted to be his own man. At the time, he seemed to understand that he wouldn't be his own man over at Souths; I hope he doesn't think things have changed since then.

plenty of new challenges at Easts - win three in a row; be the best team of the 20s; make people re-define the way we see centres; win as many comps as possible at the club you started playing at when you were 16 ... the list goes on.

If Latrell goes Smith is a good replacement, also.... someone posted a link of a young guy who looks like Latrell and is a centre and also is powerful. Cant remember his name although I did see some highlights and was very good, not sure if its the 20s or younger.. Does anyone recall???

I don't understand how Smith or anyone else could be seen as a suitable replacement for Latrell. He is the best centre in the game and not close to his peak.

Was it Tuipoluto? Mackenzie Baker is a fullback but a lot smaller than Lattrell. I've got a rap on young AJ Kepaoa, I hope we can keep him.

Lathan Hutchison-Walters is probably who your thinking of, some comparisons have been made with Latrell. Apparently had a pretty good stint with the SG ball though I cant vouch for that I never seen any of his games. The other one was Christian Tuipolotu in the Flegg who came with big wraps from NZ. I did see 6 or 7 of his games and wasn't impressed at all.

                      • Suggesting Smith is a decent replacement for Latrell is ludicrous. Smith has potential but Lats is a once in a generation type player who is far from his peak and will only get better. Let’s not replace the Ferrari with a 1970s Datsun.

                          We can.

But we can’t pretend it’s anything but what you say.

If he goes anywhere for that sort of money/deal, then good luck to him and I hope the expectation doesn't weigh too much on his broad shoulders.

Yes he is a superstar, but I would say he performs best as a cog in a machine like here at the Roosters. Make him the main man where a lot of the expectation is on him to deliver every other game and it remains to be seen how he will cope with that. He might kill it just like how he took the extra goal-kicking responsibility within his stride. On the other hand, issues like discipline and staying in the right headspace will be more important somewhere else when a team is relying on him as the main man.

Whatever he decides, he helped deliver us two titles and brought us a lot of enjoyment. Another club may prise him away from us but we will always remember his years as a Rooster should he decide to leave.
