  • Could we win with 12 players?

After winning two grand finals in a row with 12 players for part of the game, it seems our defence is just about impenetrable.

    Which leads to me ask,

Could play a whole game with 12 players and win?

still have same 4 person, 8 time interchange

could prob win a one off game when you have a far superior squad, ie chooks vs titans, but the back up factor would kill a team the following week.

Just wanted it known, the regular interchange 4 person, 8 time, rule applies and not 12 people in total.

By the way, we are fans not players. So if you think you might disrespect the opposition by announcing this, you’re wrong. Plus Trent would be coaching this already.

We would beat half the teams with 12

We could win the odd game with just 12 men, but if we had to play every game in a season with 12 men, we'd win the wooden spoon.

I reckon we would be favourites to win the comp if the whole NRL was reduced to 12 players per team!

The Roosters are playing the Broncos, and at half time the Roosters are 52-0 ahead, with Latrell Mitchell scoring 7 tries.

Trent Robinson calls the team together and tells the rest of them to knock off early and go to the pub, leaving Mitchell to go back out on his own.

A couple of hours later Mitchell wanders into the pub.

“What was the score Trell?” asks Robinson.

              “We won 87-2”.

              “What?!?!” says Robinson.

“How the bloody hell did the Broncos get 2 points?”

“Really sorry, gave away a penalty & got sent off with 20 minutes to go”.
There's a reason why the young and idealistic become the old and cynical.
              It's called experience.

Hahahahahaha that’s an oldie from the days of Artie and Bozo slaying England in tests

Maybe Trent's utilising 3 of the 4 bench players , for most of the season , was a handicap to harden the **** up for this eventuality ...

Could we win in 2020 with Cronk as an old school captain/coach? Of course Robbo is going nowhere. But just hypothetically, I think we would go close.

I remember a game against Manly early in 1982 when we had John Harvey sent off in the first 90 seconds. Against all odds, we led for 77 minutes, then tragically let Manly score, and we lost 20-17 ...

No. The captain coach survived in a much simpler era of coaching structures and pressure. Nowadays there's a separate coach to get the players to wipe their bum in the best way. Even Coops would feel too much heat as a skipper coach.

Fair call, but just imagine how good Coops would be telling people how to wipe their bums. There's nothing that guy can't do.

True Zac, he would be good at it. Probably the only time you would hear him say "Guys, I really want you to fold here"..
