My main concern is if he doesn't get an upgrade for next year then he may ask for a release.
I think he is worth 750k and Manu 600k.
IMO Latrell should be the sacrificial lamb, not sure who we are trying to secure first, the club is in a difficult position.

Personally I think Latrell is worth $1m easily. I do worry about his family and friends getting in his ear though. I think he is a centre and will remain so.

Is there really a bunch of clubs lining up to pay Latrell $1.2m a year though? Remains to be seen. His lack of effort has been pretty obvious at times this year. Any club willing to fork out that kind of cash would be taking a major punt on his attitude IMO. There may be a couple of desperado clubs prepared to fork out that kind of money but if he wants that kind of deal from one of the better clubs he may be disappointed.

And if I was one of the desperate clubs I'd be asking myself, "if Trent Robinson and the Roosters struggle in a constant battle to keep Latrell focused, then how on earth are we going to do it and get 1m+ per year value for money?"

Personally I don't think there will be clubs lining up to pay him 1m+. Maybe the one desperate soul.

And Latrell will have to choose between taking such an offer at a basketcase club or maybe taking up 800k at the club and coach he knows and loves.

I think Latrell would stay at the Chooks for 820k per season & he is worth that every day of the week. Ferrari's are not cheap.

              One million? No.
We cant break the club if he wants overs. I'd wish he stayed thou, but..........

He is a centre on $750k and no more.

Latrell is probably worth the $1million. In saying that I think we will probably offer him around the $800-$850k mark. It’s up to him if he’s prepared to sacrifice the extra money to stay. He is worth the money because he can be the difference between winning and losing any game. The GF in particular. If he hadn’t thrown that flick pass to Toops then it may have turned out a different result.
Latrell has had a difficult year but still produced when it mattered. Once his contract is sorted hopefully staying with us, you will see the best of Latrell. Seriously, his best is yet to come. People forget how brilliant he can be. Really, really hope he stays.

When comparing the two, who is the likely guy to win you a match, more so, the big matches? Who is the opposition focused on as the threat? Who do the kids wanna watch, and who will give that standout moment?

latrells attack and defence is far better than Manu.

if Manu is worth 600 than give me latrell for 900.

When clubs structure their cap in this way, this is why they don't get us. There are probably only 3 positions, I think should be paid that sort of money, 1-6-7 and the players need to be right at the top of the game in these positions. Outside of this in my mind there are very few exceptions to the rule.

If he is intending going to a club where he is going to play in one of these positions, he has some work to do and the expectations will be significant.

At centre he is one of the best that have come through the club and I hope we retain him. I think the club will respect that and offer him a fair and genuine offer, with consideration to the other players contracts in our team.

The club shouldn’t, and I don’t think they will, pay over 7560-800. He can make the extra 100-200k through TPA and the benefit of being in a successful team that’s an attraction to sponsors that will be willing to pay him $$$$ to promote their businesses

I think Latrell is a great player but no player is worth 1 million dollars, not even him.

That's 250k per Cruciate ligament. 500k per knee.

So what happens if we give him the 1.1 million and first game next year he does a Martin Offiah. That was 100k and it was a waste of money in 1993 too.

I want him to stay, but I think Latrell needs the Roosters more than the Roosters need Latrell.

You could be right there KB, but it will hurt seeing him in the cardinal and myrtle if he goes that way.
