Robbo's a great coach and I wouldn't swap him for anyone but you just don't know how Latrell would go somewhere else. He's a very good player and would probably be a success.
Guess it comes down to how happy he is with us and how much we can scrape together to keep him here.

I would be pleased if Latrell stays, but the club needs to weigh his salary, or potential salary, against those of others that we might wish to retain. It is a difficult balancing act. The club needs to get the biggest 'bang for its buck' so to speak, and it is always bigger than any one player. If it gets down to a couple of hundred thousand dollars difference, and he shows signs that he is purely driven by the almighty dollar, then I think we would have to bite the bullet and let him part ways. Latrell needs to think about what the best prospects are for his career, bearing in mind too that he has indicated that he wants to retire by the age of 30. Robbo and the club have been fantastic to him, and that should weigh very heavily. The situation with his manager, however, could be a real issue (along with his immediate family in Taree). That could unfortunately be a bigger factor, and that is what I am particularly concerned about. It would be absolutely terrible if he went to Souths thinking that that is the only logical realistic option. If it is purely money driven, it will be the Bulldogs. Anyway, we don't really know, but it is going to be an interesting week or so coming up.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Whereas he now drives a top line Porsche which gives him a similar performance output from a well built unit that doesn’t rattle at high speed and question why you pay so much for such poor quality...it’ll be interesting to see

I've never met Latrell but from what I can see his off field life doesn't present much of a risk. He's bounced back from every adversity. Sure, he's a human being with feelings etc and inadvertently a public face of an Australian political problem (which he brings a fresh approach to) but the guy obviously loves playing footy and loves winning and so long as he stays true to himself he'll be okay.

Mickie Lane said in another thread that the Chooks are a chance of winning Bathurst. Must’ve been the 12 hour if it’s a Ferrari. Maybe Latrell could drive for us?..it’ll be interesting to see
