My theory would be that latrell and his crew went in all business and didn’t even acknowledge the relationship he already has with the roosters. Tabled a completely crazy offer and wouldn’t even look at roosters’. So roosters came back all business and withdrew and released a statement. All speculation in here I guess.

Statement was simply saying we will not get into a bidding war .
We will not accept any player holding the club to ransom .
Accept what you are worth and not what outside influences are telling you.
We the Roosters will move on and we will come out in a better or in a as good position

whomever signs him will be paying massive overs... anymore than 800k is ridiculous for the effort he puts in... yes he can have freakish games but he just as easily goes missing.. can NOT believe he knocked the chooks back after all they have done for him.

He owed us another contract, same as RTS did.
RTS couldn't see it, neither can Latrell apparently.

Big waste of time developing young players, putting in all that time and effort only to be 'slapped in the face'...might as well just buy top players like Cronk and Morris.

Once the decision was made Latrell wasn't part of the long term future of course the club had to put out a statement.

The club did the right thing by informing the fans what was going on.

Personally I think our club has a track record of making good decisions and I don't mind being kept in the dark if it's for the greater good.

I note Weidler said Latrell could still be playing for us next year, so maybe the statement was more a statement to Latrell and the players that if you want to play for a premiership winning club you will have to take unders - that's the reality of life under a salary cap.

100 % this and add that the leadership group, power brokers at the club and coaching staff (Robbo, Fitzy, Cronk) all know what Latrell's daily worth is. They all know what his contribution is around the club and on the footy field.

It's a shame Latrell has had all this success so early in his career but we are one if, if not the most powerful club in the NRL so when it comes to business style negotiations, we have the godfather. No player is bigger than the club and our culture.

I applaud the dogs, I think they have pulled out because they are questioning why Roosters won't pay Latrell more money based on the above. I think Tigers or Souths will be his likely destination.

Tetevano is one of the first players we should've signed.
He hasn't signed with anyone else yet...what about a back-ended contract?
