It's a shame , such a talent for the big moments.

If Latrell can find a club that is willing to pay what he wants for 2020 then the Chooks should let him leave the nest, because his attitude will absolutely stink and he will do the team more harm than good if he is forced to stay if he wants to go.
The bloke is extremely high maintenance. Let's see whether he sinks or swims in an environment here he may not receive the care and support he has had so far. Not to mention the extra time off so he can disappear up the coast when he needs it . Certainly he'd best steer clear of the Tigers/Maguire - he wouldn't last the preseason.
It's one thing to chase $ but another to feel comfortably in a good structure and professional environment that enables you to play at your peak.
He will look back one day with regret for listening to others getting into his ear about chasing $$. Mundine did the same thing to SBW.

He's probably the most naturally talented player we've ever had, if he ever gets his head right he will be one of the all time greats. I'm disappointed in the way it has played out and it's hard to know what's truth and what's fiction but I have the utmost faith in our club and in particular our coach and their course of action. Robbo will have a plan B in mind and we might see Billy Smith given his opportunity whether that's at left centre or on the wing with Morris moving into the centres.
I don't see Mitchell being successful anywhere other then Souths (its pains me to say it) or maybe the Storm. He needs a strong coach who knows when to bring out the big stick or when to give him a cuddle and tell him he's a star and Bennett, Bellamy and Robbo are the only 3 coaches who have the management skills to know when to do this. If he goes to the Bulldogs, the pressure will be huge as he will become the main man and history has shown he doesn't always respond to the spotlight. Anyway, thanks for the memories Latrell and good luck with your future club

Coming into this thread late, plenty has been said, so I won't go over too much old ground. The club has handled this saga / circus brilliantly. Very proud that I am supporting them! It is always bigger than any one player. I believe that he should go next year rather than sticking around at the risk of becoming a negative influence and impacting on our three peat prospects. It will be mighty difficult to swallow seeing him play in the cardinal and myrtle, but I am almost resigned to the fact that it is going to happen. The club has built a reputation as being the benchmark for cap management in the NRL, and that is of paramount importance in the medium to longer term. It is a shame that he is disregarding everything Easts have done for him since he was 16. Whichever club it is - they definitely will have their work cut out. Latrell wasn't happy in the end with such a great club, so I am not sure how he will cope with one with inferior structures, processes and players. Anyway, let's see what the next instalment reveals. I am surprised to see an article referring to Penrith separating themselves from Latrell (that has come out of left field). Does that mean all other clubs eventually will be linked at some stage?MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

One thing i dont think anyone has mentioned is the pressure of being a 1 Million Dollar player brings... whomever pays him that amount of money are going to expect results.. fans will turn on him if he doesnt produce week in and week out.... and we are seeing already how poorly he takes criticism.. this is going to end badly imo... he isnt mentally stable enough or mature enough to handle the expectations his "friends" are putting on him.My Roosters Channel - youtube.com/IRoostermanI

I actually don't know what's funnier - the Vermin thinking they can win a title with 'go missing' Latrell and Jimmy the Jet in the centres and Walker in the halves, or thinking they can win it with an at times lazy Latrell at FB. He will let in more tries than he will ever score. The bloke does not have the motor and mental awareness to play FB 80 minutes a week for 25 rounds.
All I can say is - Lol at Souffs.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Cmon let’s not be too sour at him leaving. He had a patchy season no doubt and is still very much so a work in progress but he is a superstar and is still developing. It saddens me to see him leave us especially to our biggest rivals but that’s footy. We’ll bounce back. I understand we are annoyed, angered and frustrated at him leaving but we cannot say he is useless and a overrated player. If he just resigned with us would you be calling him that still? I bet the majority wouldn’t. Latrell Mitchell is a superstar and will get better with age and unfortunately it won’t be with us... BUT we are the best club in the league and we will be fine. In comes another star in the making smithy..

He may be a troubled genius but a genius nonetheless . Probably not unreasonable when you consider his age and considerable profile .He hasn't officially signed anywhere else so there is a faint hope he may stay a Rooster beyond next year . Have massive faith in Robbo and Nick to make the correct call . So bloody disappointed if he goes , but wish him all the best. Should we let him go for his last year of his contract ?? I dunno about that it really depends have we got a better plan to spend his salary on . Silly season is here !

I would grant him a early release if he signed elsewhere for 2021.
