Would anyone be interested in a Latrell, Jennings swap?
    No way

Been there done that with Jenko. He was outstanding for Tonga on the weekend, but doubt he has another big NRL season in him.

      Bird ...haha good one.

It seems other clubs are smart enough to know they can't spend $1m plus on a centre. He looks more like a second rower than a fullback and we know he is not a $1m plus 5/8. I wouldn't be surprised if the Toronto Wolfpack tried to sign him.

Reading these articles my big worry for him is that he is surrounded by some horrid, incompetent and hateful people. Mudnine in particular is a cancerous tumour of an individual.
Dont be fooled by the media & Mundines silly comments at times, he is one of the most loyal people you would ever meet & would only have Latrells best interest at heart. There has not been to many Aboriginals that have reached the heights of Choc. Choc has amassed over 13 million dollars since her retired from League & owns 4 houses buying his dad a house also. His house in Blakehurst is so big that his 3 wives, 7 kids his mum & Fergo live there.
I would rather have Choc in my ear then 1 of those low life slimy managers who only care about their commission.

I had a lot to do with Matty Geyer through a mutual friend in our 20's, he said most players will tell you Choc is one of the best blokes you would ever meet

                • I've never owned a flash car and if won one in a lottery I'd sell it, but he's hardly the first player to buy one. Good luck to him.

If you have prospects of earning 800k + a year, there's going to be a bit of money left over to spoil yourself. Better to spend 250k on a car than put it through the pokies.

And, fmd how bad a journalist is Hooper, is he sure the car doesn't belong to a friend? If you're going to write a story that Latrell has bought a fancy car it's better if you have proof that he bought the ****ing thin, isn't it? Maybe Latrell leased it for the month of September to get in a good head space for the finals, or to see if he wanted to buy one?

Latrell said he was chasing the money to give his kids the things he didn't have. Maybe this is what he meant? Wasn't it Bob Hawke who once vowed: "By 1990, no child in Australia will live in poverty or be without a Mercedes S63 Turbo AMG sports car"?

                    • If Hooper wants to say that a country kid from the NSW north-coast town of Taree isn't allowed to buy a flash car then that's what he should say.

Yes, but with a solid consistent centre on the other side in Manu and 2 80 minute halves in Cronk and Keary. Latrell was surrounded by players who complimented what he brings to a team.

Hooper wrote an article saying that Latrell's been seen driving a merc. Latrell says it belongs to a friend but Hooper, without any evidence, doesn't believe him.

                            • Everyone is going on about Cronulla's new centre combo of Ramien and Xerri.......doesn't leave much room for Josh Morris. He certainly went well last year and wouldn't cost the earth. He is 33 but has a couple of seasons left in him judging by his form this year

It saddens me to see him leave us especially to our biggest rivals but that’s footy. We’ll bounce back. I understand we are annoyed, angered and frustrated at him leaving but we cannot say he is useless and a overrated player. If he just resigned with us would you be calling him that still? I bet the majority wouldn’t. Latrell Mitchell is a superstar and will get better with age and unfortunately it won’t be with us... BUT we are the best club in the league and we will be fine. In comes another star in the making smithy..
I'm not being sour - I'm a fan of what Latrell brings to any team, but I also recognise that you cannot have too many 'Latrell's' in a team because, let's face it, he rarely plays for 80 minutes and floats in and out of games, which is why he is not suited to fullback. What with having Latrell, Roberts and Walker in a side, you'd be lucky to get 80 minutes out of them combined.

Latrell is a success at the Chooks because he has quality players around him that compliment the talents he has. Not sure he would get that at too many other clubs - certainly not our inferior neighbours that's for sure.
