Love the guys but really... since when did the prize only include performances in international games? Australia plays 2 internationals while the others all play 5+ games so apparently Australians can't win the Golden Boot anymore.

That has always been the criteria though? I do agree they should change it, or add another award that is based on the Worlds Best Player and includes their entire season.

The Golden Boot means nothing now. Its gone from prestigious to pathetic.

I will say after watching the last Kiwi vs GB game that JWH needs his contract extended beyond 2020- he was easily the best forward on the field. I don't give a shit if he is suspended for half of the year....the bigger the game the bigger he lifts. I rate him only second to Arthur Beetson for the Roosters in the last 50 years as far as props are concerned

Yeah, encouraging international footy is a good idea, but there's not enough of it to allow for a meaningful selection.

JWH needs to get suspended less, he really needs to have a strategy, but yeah, he's killing it.

The criteria for winning it is ridiculous.

Maybe a new more prestigious award needs to be added, for the best player in the world. That takes in both domestic and international footy.

How Teddy didn't win last year, and not even nominated this year is a crime in itself. The best player on the planet by a country mile.

Unfortunately, it has become a bludger of an award. Teddy should have won it last year, and certainly should this year. The criteria are simply wrong, and should be changed if there is any appetite to restore some sort of credibility and respectability back into it.
