Can only pay the players out of profit though.
Our small population, and many sports competing for the available audience and advertising etc revenue, players in our sports can't sign contracts for $40 million a season like the star of the Superbowl could do.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Mahomes is expected to receive a contract extension that will "shatter" the quarterback market and easily surpass Russell Wilson's record salary. Specifically, Mahomes could land an extension worth $40 million per season.
Tony Romo who recently retired and is a analyst/commentator gets 4 million per season.....about to get upgraded to nearly 10 million per season....US..

That would be an interesting conversation.

                • St Helens seem to be struggling with one game left against Hull next week, before they face the Roosters a week later.

St Helens beaten 19-0 by Warrington in there second season game
First loss since July last year
First time they have been kept to nil since August 2016

                  • St Helens what a rubbish side. What a bunch of no names. None of them would make our reserves.

Sure I love filling up the trophy cabinet and I can’t wait to see the guys in action but as a spectacle I really can’t get excited about this one. Could play Joey at hooker and Jarred at fullback and Jake on the wing and Toops off the bench and we’d still beat this poor excuse for a rugby league team.

To be fair though St. Helens did have a few players out that game

What’s the bet they get held to nill in another two weeks?

Agreed. It's like playing a trial game against the Bears. However, it's a doozy because you can look really stoopid if you lose.

I always get exited to see the Roosters in action during the pre season, regardless of who they play.
Just seeing new combos and the new players bought or that have developed during the off season.
And finally me being starved of football especially of watching the Roosters
