  • Pretty obvious lattrel going

It's pretty obvious lattrel is leaving, he's decided no to go on end of year trip with the team

Latrell's going because he's not going.

well I think he is leaving the Roosters, but even if he was staying with us ..I would assume he probably wouldn't go on the holiday given the fire situation up around his home.

        Yeah he's 100% gone.

        What a tragedy.

The bloke could have been the next Artie Beetson - a Roosters legend, remembered and revered for 100 years.

Instead he's the next RTS. A young superstar who never bled red, white and blue like the true club legends, including his contemporaries Aubo, Cords, JWH and Friend.

And just like RTS he'll be forgotten about in a couple of years.

And also like RTS he has won his last Premiership where as we will go on to win more.

I dunno if he's going but IMO that's certainly the call he's gotta make.

IMO it would be quite special if he tests the market, gets offered everything under the moon, spends time with his family/community (who clearly mean a lot to him) and then comes back and asks Uncle Nick for $750k because he sees a massive future playing/training with Robbo, Cords, Friendie and Cronk.

As fans I reckon we need to give him that space and stop backstabbing him. I'm sick of hearing people hating on a guy for weighing up his options... as if they'd all blindly sign a long-term contract 2 years before they have to, offering $200k less than what others have put on the table. IMO he's still a big chance of staying BUT:
          - He has up until this time next year to decide. There is no rush and maybe he wants to use 2020 to make an even bigger impact on the game.
          - He won't be pushed by angry fans trying to force him to speed up his decision.
          - We say there's no difference between $800k and $1m for him but like RTS, his money might have to stretch pretty far to drag his whole family outta poverty.
          - Hate to say it but family SHOULD be more important to Latrell than some footy club. The guy's a father and people in his family musta done a lot of stuff on the micro level to get him to the NRL. IMO it's fair to say that an extra $200k (~$100k after tax) could (for example) be the difference between somebody special to him (like I dunno... his brother whose NRL career is gooone due to an assault charge for slugging some racist piece of shyte in a bar) having a future + studing or whatever... or falling into a cycle of prison/drugs/violence/housing commissions...etc. Maybe that's not our problem and it's just business but if Souffs/Wests/Canterbury sign him by saying 'we get you man... come here and we won't let your brother fall down that path' then we've fukked up IMO. Not saying that's THE sticking point, but IMO stuff like that would go through your mind when choosing to turn down an extra $200k.

Sad if it ends this way.

I think Latrell is a good kid, that's had it way too easy from a footy point of view and is being badly advised.

Pretty sure he didn't go on the end of season trip last year as well, missing the trip shouldn't be seen as an indication he is going, that was pretty clear when the club releasing their statement about pulling their contract offer.

For whatever reason Latrell isn't a fan of these overseas trips with the boys, he missed both GF celebration trips to the USA and he also decided to skip the WCC to play in the Indigenous All Stars Game.

Don't think there was much issue within the club that he missed last years WCC game, but I could see there being some issues this time around if he was still with the team and decided to skip it again, its important to remember the WCC is more than just a game its a training camp for the boys and a massive part of the preseason.

Read this on the fox site

After withdrawing a $1.6 million offer for 2021 and 2022, the Roosters are now heavily pushing for Mitchell to sign with another club and leave effective immediately.

When the Bulldogs were still at the negotiating table, the Roosters were even prepared to chip in some money to get Mitchell off their books for next season.

                  Wtf.
Now they're saying we are desperate to get rid of him?

I reckon he should see out his contract either way.

Why would Latrell want to go to Vegas? He’s already rolled the dice!

He's gone boys & girls & it's the best outcome for everyone.
Firstly it makes the NRL stronger with him leaving the Chooks & going to hopefully the Tigers.
Secondly he gets to play FB where he wants to play, its the position he played coming through the ranks at the Chooks & was very very good at it until he was switched to centre in 2017.
Thirdly the Roosters aren't carrying a player that doesnt have the Roosters or nothing attitude. Who ever takes over will play with passion & will be ready to bleed red, white & blue.

He’s going because he is on the 2020 kids membership stuff
                        ..it’ll be interesting to see

The club doesn’t have up to this time next year to decide. The club needs to know much sooner in order to plan for our future.

I don’t think he actually wants to play fullback. He is clearly too lazy for this position. He just knows he has to play FB to demand a million odd dollar contract cause centers don’t get this much.

Its not that he's leaving ,its the way he went about it , Roosters have shown such loyalty and support and in return he was apparently shopping himself.
around the week of the gf.
Also we pay his wages to play in a team sport , missed the WCC , didn't go on end of season trip last year , does that indicate he is a team player.
He is young and will hopefully learn but if not career is over because if he does this at the next team no one will want him .
