Now he knocked common sense changes to the golden point rubbish.
    He "hates draws"................

Why should we care what this penguin thinks, and why does he wield so much power???

I don't have a problem with draws, but don't especially feel strongly about getting rid of golden point. One thing, if they do tweak it, they shouldn't award more than 2 premiership points per match.

I think golden try is the best option. Just seems a bit more fair than slotting a field goal for the win

I think just play 2 x 5 min halves is the fairest option and would encourage some ' proper' footy

FFS, scores are level after 80mins in the normal premiership rounds both teams receive 1 pt each, it worked well for so long, now with golden point we get pathetic field goal shoot outs and the refs are suddenly to scared to penalise teams for things like off side that would give a team a penalty shot at goal in extra time although they are happy to do it in normal time. Don't agree with Golden try either, if teams have battled each other for 80mins and scores are level at the end that is the way it ends, they do not need to battle longer to try and obtain 2 pts.

What happens if a team kicks 3 penalty goals then the other team scores a try?

If it's golden try then teams won't take the two. Problem with golden try is that you could be there all night.

The answer to both is a draw. Which is ok.

What is not ok, is awarding a combined competition points of three points, one for the initial draw and two for the game winner.
                  ..it’ll be interesting to see

This golden point, golden try is all to do with pleasing generation “instant gratification”. There is nothing wrong with a draw & both teams getting a point but then some bright spark who had to much time on their hands decided like a big sook that there had to be a winner. So the NRL agree & we are left with a game that completely changes rules when they go into golden point eg no offside, no policing of the ruck, no shepard & so on just so someone can kick a dubious field goal to win & get the 2 points whilst the loser gets robbed because there is no rules & walks away with no points even though they were as good as the winners after 80 minutes.

I hear they are considering that the points are allocated as follows:

A regular win within 80 minutes would now become 4 points and 0 for the loser
If the game was drawn at full-time then after extra time the 4 points are shared 3 points for the winner and 1 for the loser.
Or two points each if still a draw after extra time.

Then the other team wins 4-3

They thought there was a problem , there wasn't , a draw is a good result after 80 , so what they did with golden point broke it.
Now with golden try they will F**ck it.

                            The best solution I think.

If they want to give out 2 & 1 for drawn matches, change the points for a win to three... problem solved.
