Maybe its just me, but I would keep the field goal as an option for winning in extra time. I know that golden point has become a drop goal frenzy, but if a team can score extra points in regular time with field goals, then the same rules should apply in extra time. I'd change the rule of first points win though. Extra time with two 5mins halves is the way to go during regular season games.

I don't mind draws, but if you're going to have extra time I'd prefer it's not a guaranteed extra ten minutes (increases the chance of injury and makes it harder to recover for the next week. Semis a different story.). Golden try (with penalty goals and field goals not allowed) allows for skill to be better rewarded, but makes it more likely that the full ten minutes will be played.
If you're going to have extra time I'd stick with first score, but give the loser some points (so long as the game has the same amount of premiership points as every other game.

Keep draws for the normal 26 rounds. Golden point only for semis etc when a result is needed.

If golden point stays as the current status quo, a golden try would alleviate the field goal-at hon. No interchange allowed, so natural attrition occurs. Out the left field, even have the option to have one less player each team, guaranteeing more space to score.

I agree that a draw is sufficient during the regular rounds. I am of the old school of thought that it worked for 95 or so years and doesn't need to change or be tinkered with. It is about the only thing that I agree with Mr Bennett on! The players etc complain of playing too much footy as it is, so we shouldn't be unnecessarily adding to that. In terms of the finals, I think extra time is probably sufficient without specifying how a win should be achieved. Perhaps 10 minutes each way, followed by 5 minutes each way, if required (but I doubt it would ever get to that). I hope we don't get to a world where rules and structures get too complicated - that is part of the significant problem that Australian Rugby is going through at the moment.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
