In any case, we have 2 first grade coaches nurturing talent behind Smith. Remember our coaching staff of 02 had Sticky, Cartwright, Flanno aboard so its not a bad thing.

A lot of our younger players. Pity their development will go backwards like most of our young players with the lack of good coaching we've experienced in the last 7 years

There is a difference between hijacking and realism. Not everything can be seen through rose coloured glasses. Hijacking a thread is taking it completely off topic and getting into insults - but you know plenty about that. A thread can go off topic naturally, although I'd consider criticism of our captain, coach and Politis (who seems to dictate our roster) as pretty relevant to the player roster.

As pessimistic as Fred is, most of what he's saying is tough to disagree with. Anasta deserves criticism. So does Politis. I'm not convinced that our entire coaching staff are out and out losers, but they've hardly proved themselves winners, have they? Fred advocates a few top coaches: Bellamy, Hasler and Bennett, all of whom have had success (give or take a salary cap breach). He is correct in doing so, because they're far and away the best coaches out there.

There has been a lot of talk about us picking up a major signing or two for next season. However, as time goes on that is now appearing extremely unlikely.

As such I have two questions;

1. Do you think the roster is finalized or will there be one or more additions to the squad?

2. If the squad is finalized why did we let Jason Ryles go?

I can understand Smith has not won a GF but how many times has he got a team to a GF? plenty. how many current nrl coaches have got a team to a GF? Bennet, Sheens, Hasler, Smith, Cleary, Anderson. Do not include Bellamy he and storm are proven cheats, How many coaches have won a GF Bennet,Sheens, Hasler. Forgive me if iv'e missed any. Smith is fine, he will do a good job.

I dont have any good oil so to speak but you would have to think the roster is finalized now, they are almost into pre-season training (actually could already be into it). Hey, what would make you think Foran would want to actually come here? We'd need a big bundle of crispy bills tightly wrapped and an extra wad in a brown paper bag to get him here, even then it would be no gaurentee. Interesting to think about the possibilities though, money = talent = success , is that a formula that works?

LOL mate but yes I think we should have. His improvement over the second half of last season was massive. As a supporter of this team I am more than happy for any player to make me look stupid after bagging them.

He will hang on way beyond his next contract upgrade after playing well above expectation next season.

You can't expect any good players will come to play under smith.

It's unfortunate but that's what it is.

You also can't expect any good players will want to come play under Elliott or okay outside Mortimer.

So our roster won't change expect for any minor tinkering with more rejects which is the way smith likes it.

We will have to wait til 2013 when we have a new coach for any decent signings
