Latrell should just shut up and hope for the best, because the more he opens his mouth the less options he has. I doubt any club will be getting out the cheque book currently to sign him to a mega deal in 2021 and beyond. That interview did him no favours whatsoever. He came across as a self-indulgent sook with a huge chip on his shoulder.
The Chooks will probably have to keep him for 2020 as he may not have any options. And looking at at recent photos, he is more likely to be replacing Zane at prop than Teddy at FB. No club in their right mind would sign him to play FB in his current state of fitness.Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

For example. Anthony Mundine's nephew is Reimis Smith, Tyran Smith is Reimis’ father who is a sports agent. All could just happen to be at a table of a house for dinner one night.
Everything could be at arms length and yet nothing official..it’ll be interesting to see

It breaks the bonds of trust that have been a huge part of our foundation of success.
I'm not sure there is a way back from that, as much as I want Latrell to stay.

I think Latrell's interview might have made him less attractive to other clubs, but that's not a reason for me, as a Roosters fan, to dislike it. The interview wasn't about promoting what some people are calling the Latrell brand but a chance for the bloke who has been at the centre of media attention to have a say. Time will tell if he had some other agenda, but it just came across as an interview with a journalist that he felt comfortable with, where nothing was off the table. People complain about players sticking to the script - well, Latrell didn't stick to the script and, on balance, he didn't say anything about the club that worried me. Sure he's supposed to get permission with us before he talks to the media, but this was in the off season.
Maybe Latrell's made some mistakes in these negotiations, but I don't know the full story so I'm not going to hang him over anything. Sure, if he's done the wrong thing by the club, then maybe it's better for him to go, but there's no hurry to condemn him.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Could be race, could be that they felt they were detracting from the camp, could be that they disagreed with their stance, didn't feel like they were focused on their job etc etc... who knows what it was. Who knows if there is any truth to what Latrell was even saying, he may have just read the situation wrong. He did not directly link his race to the statement though, that is my point.
So what's defamatory about it?
Seems like something NSWRL were very quick to want covered up and haven't really addressed.

They were both dropped because they played crap & NSW lost.
