The Latrell Mitchell Interview

Seems like a kid who loves the club but wants a new challenge but the club just isn't in a position to offer that at the moment so he's grappling with the idea of leaving a club he cares a lot about and challenging himself personally.
The paranoia over South's on here over the past few weeks has become embarassing.

Chooks mustn’t have been open to the idea of latrell switching to 5/8, I remember an interview with latrell earlier in the year where after playing at 5/8, he said with a full pre season under his belt, he would be very comfortable playing 5/8.

Safe to say by the number of Latrell threads here the supporters want him to stay
He's honest- playing on the centres is a chore for him.......and that should really spell the end of his time at the Roosters. The club cant re-sign a player knowing he doesn't want to play in a position that they need him for.
If he is correct in saying that he was surprised about the offer being withdrawn- and theres no reason why he would lie- then you can be sure as hell it was Nicks call. You can see that Latrell is pensive about meeting up with Nick.....im not sure what Latrell is expecting? Nick wont up the offer- i get the feeling he wont even re-instate the offer.
As much as it pains me to say it but i think its time for Latrell to move on....because i get the feeling that Nick and Trent already have!

Good on Latrell for continuing to own the fact this situation is all about the money for him, that being said I think he has learned a massive lesson about the business of sport, unfortunately for him teams aren't just going to sit around and wait till he is ready to make a decision.
Also think that quote about playing centre becoming a chore should be a massive red flag for any team looking to sign him long term.Last edited by fletch; 12-07-2019, 09:24 PM.

Either he really wants to stay but is torn because he wants to play fullback as he wants a new challenge because centre is now a chore.
Or he agreed to sign with the vermin ages ago for 2021 and the club knew it which is why they pulled the offer, but he doesn’t want anyone to know that. At the same time he’s now trying to play the victim and get an early release to join them next year.
Or I have no idea!!

Among all of this, and on a lighter note, he said at one point that he was linked to AFL. I hadn't heard anything about that one. Quite an hilarious thought IMO. May as well start a rumour that he is linked to NFL, the NBA, ice hockey, fill in whatever blank you wish!MRR or Rabid
Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Remember this classic pre 2018 GF interview.....

Latrell has been awesome for the Roosters since coming into first grade- a very special player who has managed to own plenty of the big moments-like that flick pass that set up the 2019 GF winning try. Theres no reason why his team mates would want him to leave. Contract negotiations are between the player and the club- nothing to do with team mates.
