Where the hell is Wayde Rushton in all of this mess. It looks like he’s gone missing. He’s caused this whole mess by encouraging a naive, young, impressionable player to go behind his employer’s back, have secret meetings with other clubs before he was entitled to. He’s encouraged his client to not take a great offer from a successful club that’s always looked after him. He’s encouraged his client to then put himself on the open market when there weren’t any firm offers on the table. Then finally how could he let his client go on air and make a fool of himself with this interview. What sort of Manager is Rushton? Where is he? Why did he not stop Latrell making this latest mistake? Besides securing a good contract for a client, you would think that a Manager would take care of his clients brand. This is definitely not happening with Latrell.
I actually feel sorry for Latrell because he’s been thrown under the bus by this greedy, inept Manager. This isn’t a circus. It’s a train wreck. After what Latrell said in the interview, he may have burnt his bridges at the Roosters. The thing is he came out and said what was on his mind with absolutely no filter. He was being honest. Big mistake. He should have kept his mouth shut and just asked for another meeting to discuss his future with Nick and Trent.
Like I said I feel sorry for Latrell because I honestly think he’s a good person who has lost his way. He hasn’t done anything terrible so I hope there’s still a chance his career with the Roosters can be salvaged. It will all depend on what he says to Nick and Trent, and if they are prepared to give him a second chance.

Our opinions might matter, but just because we've been supporting the club for a long time doesn't mean we know what's going on behind the scenes.

I mean, I don't know what went on. Doubt Latrell and Freddy have talked about L's sacking but, like I said, maybe Freddy tried to contact him. Either way, it would be good if the two of them could clear the air. At this stage, Freddy has publicly said that Latrell shouldn't be picked for Australia in a year's time, so it seems like the relationship isn't good.

I agree about being honest. But the things he said in a public interview should have been said in private to Nick and Robbo.
He won’t get sympathy from the club for airing dirty laundry in public.

I think the more he goes public the more he’s alienating clubs. These are things he needs to talk privately to those concerned about. His attitude is he’s a superstar so respect for club or the NRL doesn’t matter. It does. He’s embarrassing himself, Freddy and the Blues and Roosters and NRL. He should have just taken the 800k instead of letting the likes of Mundine get in his ear and pump up his ego because however humble this looks on the surface it’s all ego driven. Clubs and the sport needs to be respected and proper protocol observed. He’s showing one and all that all that matters is himself. He’s gotten completely out of hand I reckon. It’s a big mess. What makes you so sure that Rushton is to blame? I get the impression Latrell has a manager in Wayde Rushton, then it sounds like there's a heap of 'support staff' (for want of a better term) that keep sticking their nose in. I have heard reports of close associates asking clubs for cash payments if they deliver Latrell to the club, apparently it wasn't his manager that organised the meeting with the Bulldogs either. We now here a report that he is meeting Nick Politis with Matt Rose in the coming days and not with his manager. I just think there's too many people trying to get a piece of Latrell and the kid is being very poorly advised all round by these 'hanger oners'

If indeed as the article state Fitler has on numerous occasion's tried to contact Latrell and the statement that because they did not sing the anthem that they were treated different then yes it is defamatory . Addo Carr was not dropped so it was not because of race or not singing a song , it was purely on form and attitude.

Latrell didn't say he was dropped because of race. That would be a potential law suit for defamation if he did.

He said NSW went funny on him and Cody Walker. That could relate to anything... The way he felt he was spoken to after expressing his opinnion, the body language of managament, a change in language or conversational tone.

Think it speaks to really poor leadership when an employee speaks out about their experience and the boss comes out and gags them.

Its an abuse of power.

Before i start i'd like the preface this by saying i doubt that this will happen.

If somehow, miraculously, Latrell wakes up one morning, soon, and has a moment of clarity and realises how he is sabotaging his career, mans up and asks to see Nick (no manager, mano a mano ) then i think he will be listened to.

Unfortunately Latrell's perception of what is reality, and what that reality actually is, are 180 degrees apart.

I am stunned that Latrell is unable to see the privileged position he is in, thinking that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Kid can't see the forest for the trees.

It's such a sad, completely avoidable situation that Latrell has bought upon himself.

gone forever...they should just tell us it's a rebuilding year so we can stay home when it's raining and not deal with anything that doesn't suit us.

I'm with you 100% on this Mr Misery. Just look at our piss weak roster once Latrell leaves... no hopers like Tedesco, Tupou, Manu and Keary in the backs and reserve graders like JWH, SST, Cordner, Angus and Victor in the forwards. We're doomed, I tell you. DOOMED!

Regarding being dropped from the Origin side, I think the news should have come from Freddy directly to Latrell, Angus, etc. If it didn’t and Freddy didn’t even speak to him, then that’s very poor form by Fred.
