  • 2020 Jerseys

If you didn't already know, the 2020 jerseys were announced yesterday. No point in buying the new one as is it pretty much identical to our 2019 one. Wish they could've added a slight variation but oh well if it worked this year, may as well keep it for good luck next year!

I don't buy a jersey every year, but when your club jersey screams out tradition and authenticity, I get excited seeing it launched every year.

I think its fantastic that our club is one of the only clubs that doesn't change the Jersey every year , always roughly the same . Supporter don't have to buy new ones every year unlike other clubs supporters.
      Become bloody expensive.

Agree FC and 1908. We are not like other clubs (such as the Tigers) that have 27 different designs each season, or come up with ridiculous colour combinations or patterns/designs (I remember the Warriors copped some stick recently on one of their designs for next season). We are a traditional foundation club and our jersey is famous the world over: why try to fix something that isn't broke and is obviously working so well. Go Easts!
        MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

They should have dumped the NRL emblem and replaced it with an embroidery of Latrell’s face.

The one thing that truly annoys me about our jersey selection, is that I hate the idea of an away jersey …. it should just be an alternate jersey not an away jersey. We should only wear the traditional blue jersey even for away games …… then only wear the white jersey when we are the away team and our traditional jersey in some way clashes with the home team's jersey. I don't have a problem the an 'occasion' jersey like a special Anzac day one, but regular wearing of white jersey when we could easily be wearing the true Rooster jersey is a bug of mine !

I'm with you Hawkeye. If every club stuck to their traditional jerseys colours/design you would rarely require "away or alternative jerseys.

I'm glad they keep the same jersey too (though I do like the traditional tricolour jersey they sometimes wear..they wore it a lot in the Fittler years).
There's a certain English Football club I follow and they change their kits every single year for the sole purpose of raising revenue. It kind of sucks, especially when they finally come up with one I like and then before you know it it's last year's!

Home Jersey shouldnt be changed that often.

The club can target 9's jerseys and one off event games for special designs and revenue raising.

While I’m fine with our home jersey I wish the away one was a bit more like our away jersey in 2002.

Not Rooster related but heard a funny story from the 70's about the Panthers jerseys, this was back in the day when there were no new team jerseys issued every week but rather pretty much the same jerseys each week just washed and re-used the following week. Pommie player Bill Ashurst had a fight with Penrith management and left the club mid-season and went back to England, but the week he left he went down to a junior teams training night, and gave each kid a Penrith first grade jersey ….yes the actual first grade teams jerseys. Gave them all away unknown to Penrith management. It wasn't until game day the following weekend that the Panfers realised there were no jerseys for the first grade and was to late to arrange replacements.

Apparently all they could muster up was 13 plain red jerseys, which is the only time in the club's history they ever wore red. They probably would've looked better than those vertical chocolate stripes that they wore back then anyway. If it happened today, we'd all be sceptical that it was a revenue raising ploy from club management !
