Even his debut season in 2016 what a painful year that was but he was 1 of the reason I believed for the future. Have loved every moment of it Thanks Trell tho I am now excited to see the next youngster Billy Smith step in and take his place and create a legacy of his own in the RWB
    Nice car!

So who says the Tigers or anyone else now needs to pay him $1m ? The Tigers offer was withdrawn as he didn't take it. Their new offer can now be $800,000 and it doesn't even need to be that. He needs to find a club for 2021 and beyond. But now the power has swung against him. The ball is no longer in his court. It has all backfired and so all the people in his ear and his manager have ruined it for him.

there is no replacing latrell, no matter how we disguise it, there will be others who will play well, but we have lost a gem, and there is nobody in our backline bar teddy that even comes close to being destructive and turning a match on their own.

It turned to shite when Latrell started to believe his own publicity. He was getting bad advice and not listening to the true mentors he already had within the club , Nick , Robbo ,Cords , Coops JWH , I'm sure all would have been willing to offer sound advice on life and contracts , but he choose to listen to others who didn't have Latrells best interest , only there own.
Very sad he will now find it difficult to move on mentally from this , its a life changing moment for his and now he chooses his next direction , either he will grab it by the balls and make a success or will fade into obscurity . I wish him all the best.

They sure know how to throw loyal fans under a bus.

Well given that you do nothing but trash the club - even after b2b Premierships - I think you're safe from that bus.

Are you serious? What were they supposed to do especially after that interview? Latrell has brought this on himself and left the Roosters no choice but to let him go. All the crocodile tears now aren’t going to make up for the last couple of months.
Huge learning curve for all young players. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you!

Accusing the club of 'A bit of a kick in the teeth' in that interview really left Nick P with no choice.

Latrell publicly insulted our club and the NSW coach in this interview. He should have been gagged. He is not intelligent enough to know what to say. Whoever manages this guy couldn't mange a brothel full of supermodels.

                      • Another important thing he alludes to in the interview is that he wanted to do this contract himself. All of his previous contracts, other people had urged him to sign the first offer.

I suppose that’s why you pay a manager a fee. To get the best result for him ... and wait for it.. his family.

As we all know, sportspeople only have a limited time in the game and need to maximise every opportunity. God forbid they have to work post football retirement.

                        • Nick giveth and Nick taketh away.

Loyal and passionate for his ilk to the end, but woe betide thee who cross him.

                          • Sad to see him leave but he never was and will never be , nor any other player for that fact, be bigger than the club. We as roosters fans support the club , we cheer for the RWB and adore and cheer whoever puts it on, and boo the rest.
Lattrell has loads of talent, but my fear is this episode will harm him mentally for someone so young, and other clubs will now be wary of his state of mind, and no CEO/coach will want to take a Chance by offering a 4 year contract. Two years with another 1 or 2 option will be the safest route . good luck Lattrell I sincerely wish you well in the future.

                            • I'd sign him if I were any other club. 100% talent. Our loss.

Yes, out the door with Latrell went any hope of our winning the comp in 2020.
We might rebuild over the next few years like we did after 2013 and have another shot at a title in about 5 years time.

We only finished 2nd this year, which gave us home finals etc...because of Latrell's pointscoring.
No Latrell, no hope...we should not have spent the $800,000 so soon.
