  • The minute Matt Rose came on the scene there was only 1 place that Latrell was going to end up and that is the vermin, mentioned last offseason when Latrell's split with Steve Deacon was announced that we would face an uphill battle to keep him long term.

The longer this saga drags on the more it looks like this circus is a calculated move to get him released early from his Roosters contract.

      I didn't say wooden spoon.

Replace him with Xerri, who's about to explode into greatness, and I'll be happy.

      • I would also be happy if we can get hold of Xerri, or even Josh Morris for that matter. Either of these would certainly help soften the blow, so to speak.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

        • Would love to see Josh Morris join his brother , finish there career together and a great backup to ease Billy Smith into the top grade

          • Agree. There needs to be some sort of transition plan for Billy, similar to what there should/seems to be for Sam with Jake.

              • agree on J Moz to join, I think his hunger to playing with his bro + winning first premiership will be infectious to the team. Also nice to have back up centre option if Billy Smith experiment may not work out.

                  • I am not convinced on Xerri yet. He certainly has potential, but I still think there is a bit of media myth there

Try and be serious and you will look stupid

                    • Morris is probably the 'safer' option of the two in the short term, and is probably more of a chance now. Either would be good pick ups for us. But the point made about the brothers playing together is a fairly valid one; there are possible synergies there.

                      • Give me Billy Smith over any of them with Matt Ikavalu & Christian Tuipulotu as back ups. Have some faith in the young guys the Roosters are developing we are not the transit lounge.

Agree with this but many thought the same of Manu. Showed heaps of promise but couldn't defend. It took him a couple years. Xerri has shown enough to think he can be a rep player given the right coaching. If they don't think Smith is ready then I prefer Xerri over Morris. But we would most likely lose Smith unless he is happy to play on the wing in future.

                          • So, he's off to the Rabbits to be with his buddies, the Indigenous club, and 'master coach Wayne Bennett', who's going to make him "a better player and a better man', guide him along life's path...and he'll be playing fullback.
                            Lovely.

And we're gonna be paying Souths a few hundred thousand more dollars so he can slide over to Souths for the start of the season, so they can beat us 3 or 4 times in 2020 and win the comp, while we rebuild.

Looks like Souths only have $400,000 to pay him this season.
We've already paid him almost 200,000 since Nov 2 for doing nothing, having a holiday...THAT REALLY NEEDS CHANGING...and we'll be paying Souths another $200,000 so they can pay him another $600,000 for the season contract.

Yes, while we're trying to train a new halfback, Latrell waltzes past him to score tries at will and give Souths victories.

                            I object!

Forever the optimist . Trust in the team Bondi Boy we will be ok , we will be competitive and I'm predicting we will beat the Bunnies , we have to much pride and respect not to.
But agree we shouldn't be paying jack shite for him to go to the vermin or anyone else , would rather pay his full wage to either perform for us , off to the bears or sit the season out.
                              Go the Roosters

They have him practicing the kissing of the Rabbitoh emblem so by the time Rd 3 comes around he will have mastered it.
