Let's look at the counter to this
So, he's off to the Rabbits to be with his buddies, the Indigenous club, and 'master coach Wayne Bennett', who's going to make him "a better player and a better man', guide him along life's path...and he'll be playing fullback.
Good on him, if he thinks the grass is greener on the other side so be it. We can't change that. Ask most players and they would prefer today's man in Robbo before yesterday's man in Bennett. 3 premierships in 7 years is a better ROI than 6 premierships in 32 years
Would you prefer to keep a non-team player who is not interested in putting in the hard yards. (how many hit-up from our own quarter did Mitchell make this year?
Mitchell had the opportunity to lead the way on indigenous opportunities at the roosters, but has gone to a team that will do all the work for him....ask Angus Crichton about his indigenous initiatives.
Let him play fullback....if he thought being a centre was a chore what were we supposed to do...get rid of Tedesco?
And we're gonna be paying Souths a few hundred thousand more dollars so he can slide over to Souths for the start of the season, so they can beat us 3 or 4 times in 2020 and win the comp, while we rebuild.
If a team like the Roosters is prepared to pay '$400K' to offload a problem, it must be a BIG problem. I trust the management of the roosters to know that they would not do anything before thinking through the process based on both current and future needs
Cronk was always leaving so you don't rebuild a team around a Centre....Mitchell was playing within the team's structures not the other way around. Tedesco on the other hand, played outside the stucture, made his opportunities and the rest is history. Mitchell is too lazy or disinterest to be that type of player. If that changes at Souths, well good for him
Looks like Souths only have $400,000 to pay him this season.
And then $800K - $1 Mill in the years after that. Based on this seasons performance week-to-week is he worth that?
We've already paid him almost 200,000 since Nov 2 for doing nothing, having a holiday...THAT REALLY NEEDS CHANGING...and we'll be paying Souths another $200,000 so they can pay him another $600,000 for the season contract.
This is the only thing I agree with
Yes, while we're trying to train a new halfback, Latrell waltzes past him to score tries at will and give Souths victories.
And while Teddy, Manu, Rads, Toops, Keary, Chrichton, BMoz, Cords, Sprint past him whilst he's gasping for air, let's give him a try or else he might get a bit sooky
I object!
What a surprise!!

By your assumption, we have paid $200 grand for the first two months of his contract. So your saying his contract is $1.2 million lol. Haha no chance. He is around half of that. Our $800 grand offer would of made him the current highest paid centre.
Don't give a fark about the Latrel circus any more.
The ONLY problem/issue we have is replacing Cronk at half back. Although Latrel is a star, a centre is replaceable, much easier than a half back!

Thats a recipe for success
let him go to Souths where integrity has no place in the way they conduct themselves. He’ll fit in like a glove.

Very interesting turn of events. Latrell takes less coin to play with Souths after being offered decent money by the most successful club in the NRL. But do you think yesterday’s reported meeting with Crowe and Packer sealed the deal? It’s very odd that fat Packer and man child Crowe spent a day with Mitchell prior to his decision. If this isn’t a rort then I don’t know what is. How much $$$$ did Mitchell stash in his Bob the builder backpack before departing.
