1. Well run, good Board...players always get paid. Good marketing/good sponsorship.
2. Well coached, good coaches.
3. Good history.
4 Won back to back titles 2018/2019, won title in 2002 and 2013..."We play for premierships."
5. Nice new HQ.
6. Good colours/good jerseys/shorts/sox.
We just gave away our/NRL leading pointscorer 2019...ridiculous.
See any other clubs doing dumb things like that.
He got offered 800k and his manager was insulted. The Roosters didn't give him away- he gave the Roosters away. Maybe the Roosters dodged a bullet by not resigning a player who said playing centre was a chore
As for "see any other clubs doing dumb things like that"...... yeah with the exception of Melbourne and to a lesser extent our friends at Redfern every other club has managed to balls up their playing roster. Name the team and ill give you their fark up- its real easy
Its a shame how this ended but the positive of him not accepting that great offer was that JWH & SST got the upgrades they damn well deserved.
Unfortunately you cant keep them all. Best of luck to Latrell & thank you!

When you put it like that, Latrell seems to have been his own worst enemy.

I reckon there’s trouble in Melbourne. They’ve lost half their backline. Chambers, Brodie Croft, Curtis Scott and Vunivalu have all gone. Their champion hooker is shifting to half in an attempt to save their other backup hooker.
Souths have lost half their pack, Sam and George Burgess, John Sutton and Kyle Turner.
That’s a fair turnover of similar positions. After both were at the top last year, I suspect both will struggle in 2020.
It was like when we lost both of our edge defenders in successive years, Fittler and Ricketson. Our defence was atrocious
latrell is half the player without a good player next to him he has walk about written all over him he will always be a problem child its in his DNA better to have a good consistant player than when a team already has many gr8 players most people are getting to excited about all this we (easts) will be gr8 with or without latrell

the try to win the gf was created well before a latrells pass plz give credit to the other players involved as well
Cordner took Leilua out of the line, Keary recognised the opportunity on the short side and had the balls to go for it, Latrell's flick was perfectly timed and placed. Lots of players have that flick, Manu is great at it, but not many have the control that he and Latrell have. It was a pass out of the box, out in front of Tupou, chest high, allowed Toops to streak away and position Teddy. It was a beautifully worked team try and every single player played their part to perfection. If any of those players were half a step ahead or behind the play, it doesn't come off. Say what you will about Latrell's role in it, but without him I doubt we score that try same as without any of the others it might not have ended up a try.

In his DNA?
You should be ashamed of yourself.
A lot of the Latrell commentary on here isn't even borderline ****ed.

I notice that the Broncos keep re-signing their young stars on cut price deals, with them all sacrificing huge money to stay in Brisbane.
But Latrell? He wanted to "chase the money brah" after that insulting 800k per year offer which wasn't enough to look after his family.
I think maybe a lot of people have looked at the way Latrells contract negotiation have been stuffed up and decided the grass isn't always greener somewhere else.
