Maybe he always wanted to play for us but wanted more money, thought he'd test the market then come back to us for a higher offer than the $800.000.
There's some reason he hasn't grabbed the Tigers' offer of FB and more money...and they don't want him if he doesn't now approach them, committed to the max.

He can't be forced to go to the Tigers or any other club for 2020, just because our club no longer wants him?
Seems to me he wants to wait now until Nov 2020 to decide his future. He doesn't have to decide now, he has a contract for next season and Keary said he would be happy to have him in the team.
Nothing would be different from this past season...'lethal left side' still in business.
Maybe he was just tired after a long and drama-filled season and said centre was a chore, hoping by some miracle he'd be offered FB with us.
Seems to me that someone pumped his head/mind up with unreal expectations.

Papers keep saying if he stays with us he'll be playing for Norths.
Makes you wonder what his agent's doing. Seems like the guy tried to do it all this wheeling and dealing and shyte + instead fukked everybody over.

I feel for Latrell big time. He's done nothing wrong and has ended up with this BS circus.

I ain't a body language expert but been around long enuff to smell real and unreal...I think Boyd seemed very unsure Lattrell would see Easts colours again.

We all do. He has been made to look like a goose by those advising him.
You don't disrespect Nick and expect a welcome back. It's getting close, expecting a decision next week.

I think a clue was given to us in the Telegraph article the other day, which basically said that some in the club think he won't fit in, whilst others think that he would fit in.

So IMHO i think it's a safe bet the powers to be at the club think that Latrell would disrupt the playing group; why else would you let a GUN player with his best footy ahead of him leave the club ?! FFS !

The money supposedly not being available in the salary cap is BS! , since when did the salary cap ever stop a club from managing players out to bring new ones in, or retain players that were desperately wanted ?

I say Latrell stay and fight for your position with the Mighty Roosters !, prove them wrong !

Shoot me down, but I would love to keep Lats and let Friend go......
We have Sam on the rise and looking to the future Sam (21) and Lats (22) are the future.

              2020.
We have a good shot at the triple crown if we keep the same team as last season and only lose Cronk.
GF team minus Cronk, one to be reckoned with.

Anyway, there's going to be a catch-up of Boyd, Freddy, and Latrell in Taree next week to help the bushfire ravaged areas/people.

Maybe they can sort it out then and report back to HQ.

Stranger things can happen but I think we all have to get used to the fact that Latrell won’t be playing for the Roosters again. Sad I know because he could have gone on to be a Roosters great. Possibly even switched to fullback in years to come if and when Teddy retired. But he didn’t want to wait for that possible outcome. He is bored playing centre. He said that, so what else could we do. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had actually said something like that when he met with Robbo and then we pulled the offer only a matter of hours later. Oh well, not to be. We move on.

Cords and Latrell are both from Taree... I'd reckon there's some common ground and mutual understanding there.

Regardless of where this all goes, Freddy and Cords will never get rid of Latrell as he's born to play rep footy. Latrell is a better athlete than Cords + Freddy and has way more potential if it can be harnessed. Hate to say it but Cords is a medium quality back rower with amazing leadership skills. Latrell is not a leader, he's a superstar in need of solid advice/leadership. As a NSW and Australian captain, I reckon a failure to sort things out with Latrell would say more about Cords' leadership than Latrell.

You want the world's best centre playing for you and performing to his potential - a lot of that's on him but IMO Freddy and Cords can't just sack every player who you can't get optimal performance outta every week. I mean Jack Wighton was great in 2019 (for example) but he has had a loooot of absolutely cr@p seasons and is lucky not to be in prison for what he's done off the field! Sorry, but long-term I don't think sacking Latrell for a grub like him is smart. Latrell's not all that high maintenance and IMO he's a way better long-term investment than Jack Wighton or Nick Cotric. Leaders have gotta think long-term like that...

You must be joking , Freddy has achieved everything in the game because of his leadership and ability on the field , Latrell has achieved what he has because of ability and great players feeding him the ball , Cords is like Cooper , not the most gifted player on the paddock but a player that leaves nothing on the paddock , all players want to follow , don't think as talented as Latrell is , you cant now and probably never will be able to say that's . As for failure to lead , more like failure to listen . Plenty of good people advising him and the ones he listens to are the one who are out for themselves

This has turned out to be so confusing! What on earth is he going to do, that is the question. I would say there is a reasonable (not a 100%) chance of him staying on next season. If he does, it will be because Boyd, Luke and the remaining players want him to. The team's harmony and cohesion will be of paramount importance if this occurs. I think if he stays on in 2020, it will suggest that, unfortunately, he will end up at Souths (as a lot of us on here thought) in 2021 and beyond. The other option is if he moves in 2020. While it is a 'cleaner' outcome, I think at the moment it is slightly less likely. The Tigers and Titans are the options here of course. I think the Tigers are more likely of the two. At the end of the day, while I think this is less likely overall than him staying in 2020, that would be my preferred outcome - it would be a lot easier to swallow than him going to the rabble.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Today's DT states that Souths are now interested in Latrell, depending on what Arrow decides to do.

No way I'd be releasing Latrell to play for Souths in 2020.
We don't even have a halfback yet.
We give Latrell to Souths so Souths can walk all over us in 2020...no thank you.

Latrell said "Roosters is my home".
Let him prove it...and prove it wasn't BS.

Just let Latrell go. He’ll find out the hard way that he’s had it easier at Easts.

It is a tough dilemma - keep him next year, get another good to great performance from him (increasing our chances of the three peat), but running a greater risk of him moving to the rabble, or letting him go early and having him more likely heading to the Tigpies instead. Either way, it is certainly less than ideal. I guess there could be another option, such as we will suddenly make room to keep him beyond 2021, but I am not sure that I can realistically see that happening to be honest.
