  • Latrell -- stay with Roosters next season and fight for your position LT

I actually hope that Latrell digs in and stays with us next year. And plays out of his skin, and changes the doubters minds.

I think a clue was given to us in the Telegraph article the other day, which basically said that some in the club think he won't fit in, whilst others think that he would fit in.

So IMHO i think it's a safe bet the powers to be at the club think that Latrell would disrupt the playing group; why else would you let a GUN player with his best footy ahead of him leave the club ?! FFS !

The money supposedly not being available in the salary cap is BS! , since when did the salary cap ever stop a club from managing players out to bring new ones in, or retain players that were desperately wanted ?

I say Latrell stay and fight for your position with the Mighty Roosters !, prove them wrong !

The horse has bolted - time to move on as Latrell is no longer part of our long term plans.
He had a “me first” rather than a “team first” attitude, and that can have a negative impact on team harmony, which is critical to success in team sports.

Thanks for the memories Latrell - you have made your bed so you will now have to sleep in it ...

I think if it was up to Latrell he would stay for 2020 but its not up to him. If for some reason the Chooks cant offload him it will interesting to see what they do.
Do you give Billy Smith first crack because he wants to be at the club or do you pick Latrell who sort of wants to be at the club but also knowing that it is a chore playing in the centres for him?

I reckon Latrell was a serious chance of staying for 2020 until the "chore" comment.

Robbo & Uncle Nick have instilled a culture of respect at the club; with the honour of wearing the red, white and blue viewed as a privilege.

So when Latrell comes out and states that playing centre for the b2b Premiers, alongside loyal warriors like Cordner, Aubo, Friend and JWH, is a chore... well that's surely the final nail in his coffin.

What, you want him to fight for the position he publicly claims is a 'chore'?? That sort of talk might be one of the reasons the club is keen to move him on. Playing any position at the Chooks should not be thought of as a chore - any role whatsoever for the mighty Chooks should be considered a bloody privilege and treasured!

Playing centre is a chore, he wants to play fullback, of which he is no chance with Teddy with us , he wants to be a million dollars player, he has upset Nick, he is no.chance , move on,

I thought the interview was actually very honest and enjoyable. He used a couple of words that people have really jumped on.

Either way I can't see anyway he can continue with us now that the club don't want him for 2021. Personally I am deeply disappointed but the club is always stronger than any one player.

I don't think there is any doubters as to whether he can play football.

This whole saga has felt like a "Kick in the teeth" for me as a fan and is quickly becoming a real "chore" to read about.

                        Indeed.
I got 4 weeks of happiness after the GF, in between "you only won because of that '6 again' refereeing error"-ilk texts...then I too got the painful kick.

I hope Latrell stays for next year, has an absolute kickass season, forcing the club to re-think & re-sign him.

Poor old Tigers fans are in a very different position to us. This on their forum:

"All the people saying “if he is only coming for the money then we dont want him”. 1. Its a job everyone only comes for the money otherwise itd be a hobby or a volunteer orgnaisation. 2. If he comes for the money then thank god because if he was signing for - facilities, record of achievment, home ground, lifestyle, quality of footy team then none of those things would get him too us. We literally need him to want to come for the money its all we have."

If he has to go, Tigers would be my choice. Kind of nice karma with Teddy coming here; Tigers are no immediate threat; if Latrell helps them win a comp then that would be bigger than JT going to the Cows and helping them win a comp.

That's a good honest post from the Tigers fan. Very true.
