There was talk of an electronic curtain that would cover the top tier of the stadium when poor crowds are expected, to make it feel like a smaller arena, this is where the 100 odd million of cost savings is being debated.

If they want to cover a small looking crowd, I've always thought there must be simpler cheaper technology to do this. If they can superimpose adverts on the playing field which you can see on your tv screen but aren't actually really there on the ground, I've always thought they could superimpose a crowd over a lot of empty seats and make the stadium look full.
Always said this half tongue in cheek ...but I wonder if they will actually head toward this in the future !

Hawkeye superimpose a crowd! Now that’s thinking.

Just add a dash of artificial crowd cheer
          ..it’ll be interesting to see

Yes they will have temporary cages that pop up when we play Souths so those animals will be confined.

Not relevant to this thread, but not worth a new thread.

Seems like the raiders have put the 6 again saga into perspective. Good on them.

We already do that according to Gordon Tallis , and then count our numbers with a fork.

                        Electronic curtains?
                        Ridiculous.
If they think they're gonna be blocking off the top deck of the Members stand for Roosters games and making Members sit at the side of the middle deck...they have another think coming!
Allianz...Mr P and co sat in the front of the top deck...as did many members wanting 'good seats for their considerable fees'.
Smokes and mirrors curtains, there'll be drama!

Home viewers are not stooped, they know how many people attend club games.

                        $100M for "Smokes and Mirrors"?
                        Lunacy.

This was being discussed on breakfast radio this morning. From what I can gather, this 'technology' has not even been applied to another stadium (of note) yet, so it is academic to some extent. Apparently, the additional $99 million does not factor this in. That would also put a cat amongst the pigeons. Sydney FC is apparently 'expecting' this to be considered as part of the re-build, and has suggested that they might not come back if it is not included (they may stick to playing at the suburban grounds such as Kogarah).

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
