    exactly BG,
sure no Carney probably no GF.
But there were a couple of players that no matter whether Carney was there not, no GF.
I know some of you can't handle the fact, but Anasta was one of those players.

Hate him because he is no lockyer, but imagine this Anasta goes instead of Myles and Carney, 2012 becomes another season where half the players don't give a ****. Why did we struggle this year, not because we had Anasta, but because half the players could not give a shit, all of a sudden the filth is gone and in the last 4 weeks (and **** your understrength opposition calls) the team actually started giving a shit and that folks means something to me

Can't it be both? It was both Shitmonster and Drunken C***'s leaving and piss poor opposition that got us a four week winning run?

It means something to me too.

I was proud of our effort in the last four games - I don't care how unfocussed or understrength the teams we played were, you could see our blokes were putting in, and sure, as leader of the side, Braith deserves a bit of credit for that.

And I agree, Myles and Carney needed to go, as did Watts, as did Mason, as did all those who couldn't care whether we win or lose. It was a big problem, and the club looks like having solved it. But solving one problem doesn't magically make the others disappear. We still carry Anasta on the field, where his work-rate is low and his performance is average.

        The same applies to Minichiello.

I am happy we fixed our problem with guys like Myles and Carney. But I'd like to see us fix our six year problem with Braith too. I'm not trying to say he is awful, the worst thing to ever happen to the club, or a poison, but as much "off field work" as he does, as much as he may care about the club, had we not signed Braith Anasta for 2005, we would have been better off. Period.

The same applies today. Losing Braith and Minichiello is the next step towards a bright future.

There is 4 scenarios if we didn't sign Anasta.

1 - we signed no one. Defintely not better off
2 - we sign someone the same, well thats the same
3 - we sign someone better, we are better off
4 - we sign someone worse, we are not better off

OF course the probability of each of those varies of course but I don't recall too many other better 5/8s being on the market at the time.
The blanket statement about being better off if we had not signed Anasta is ridiculous and basically untrue.

I do agree that we need to prepare a decent plan to replace him and Mini and I don't think it practical for them to be around much after next year.

We could hardly be worse off.

In case anyone hasn't realised, we have been diabolical the last 6 years as a whole. Apart from an odd fluke year.

Having said that, you can just about say the same about just about any other player in our squad over the last 6 years - hardly massive losses if any left based on what they have dished out the last 6 years.

I remember when everyone on here cried when we lost shack.

How can you say the opposition was understrength

We basically killed St Georges Premiership hopes down in the Gong

That was a great win and one of the upsets of the year

We have a decent squad but we are just 1-2 good players away from being a top team. We will have to wait another 12 months before we are a serious chance.

I do think that so much of it comes down to luck at the end of the season. If any team is in the 8 fully fit and in form they are capable of winning.

There isn't much between the top teams and the others Storm, Dragons and Manly have been up for a long time they can't get better.

I dont care if Braith stays or goes Fred I just think the blame he cops is beyond belief. It's like saying JT is rubbish as apart from the odd fluke year he has dellivered nothing

Oh Fred you really think that if Smithy and Banasta go you will have your friends back. I think not.
                        Maybe you didn't deliver either.

Open your eyes, get some other clients and relax.

Mr Gunn, the problem with Anasta is that jealousy is his biggest enemy. Every single $ouff$ supporter and too many Rooster supporter boys are nothing more than jealous of his life.
