It is going to be tough, but with this latest development, hopefully the team will be galvanised. Robbo needs slightly less motivation to get the boys up then he did at the end of the GF last year. Covering Cooper is the obvious challenge, but I am confident we will get over it (especially given his ongoing involvement with the team). The other, lesser challenges will be managed as well. Do not undervalue hunger, determination and enthusiasm from our younger guys such as Verrills, Smith, Flanagan and those emerging forwards. We should come close to giving it a serious shake once again.

I am quietly confident that we will have a good season once again if we have better luck with injuries this time around. Here’s hoping that Flanagan and Smith or whoever replaces Latrell plays well.

Replacing what Latrell provided us in terms of assists and tries. This does not necessarily all have to come from Billy Smith, that would be unfair but we will need to fill the void elsewhere. I would really like to see Manu's output in regards to tries and assits double this year.

Settling in with a new halves pairing. It took a decent amount of time for us to settle with Cooper Cronk and he was a 300 game pro. Big ask for a 2nd season halfback.

Both will prove big challenges IMO.

But in all honesty, I think we will be hard to beat this year. We have lost some great players but still, have a better team on paper than any other team.
The hunger will be there, Robbo will make sure of it.

Not sure why you are comparing a passenger lazy 2 game a season player to Billy Smith? You seem to forget Roosters have 2 fit #9's and the best pack going into 2020. They will play to their strengths and get the 3 peeet.. Cayless and Morris will get it done..
