Loved Mose. I'm younger than most on here and I was around 11 or 12 during those poor years from 2009-12 (2010 an exception of course) and he was one of my favourite players. My dad and my two sisters made a banner saying "Don't mess with Mose" on it. I think it was partly to keep us going as footy fans because at the time the on-field performances weren't. Couldn't have happened to a better bloke and really hoping he makes a full recovery.

I just want to add my best wishes for a speedy recovery for Mose here too.

Lots of you have said what I would have said about him, particularly the reference to that game against the dragons - fond memories.

Seems Mose has had spinal surgery in the UK. Hull KR have flown his family over to be with him. Drs have said it will be a long road to recovery. He is in good spirits and selflessly asking how his team mates are.
I hope he makes a full recovery but would assume his football days are over. I think it will be a tough time for him and his young family.
I hope Hull KR take care of him.
Very sad. I really like Mose. Always had a smile on his face and was always a good guy to have a chat with. Hope he recovers well.

'Inspirational' Masoe in for long recovery after serious spinal injury
Author Troy Whittaker NRL.com Reporter Thu 16 Jan 2020, 04:10 PM

The rugby league world has come together to support ex-NRL prop Mose Masoe, who suffered a serious spinal injury while playing for UK club Hull KR last weekend.
More than ?12,000 (AUD $22,000) has been donated to an online fundraiser to assist the New Zealand-born 30-year-old.
Masoe is recovering after surgery to relieve pressure on his spine and although the early signs are good, he faces a long rehab process.

In their most recent update, Hull KR said they were "unable to give a definitive report on when Masoe will return".

Masoe, who played 63 NRL games for the Roosters and Panthers between 2010 and '13, was defending his goal-line in a friendly match against Wakefield Trinity when he was hurt in a tackle.
"What looked like an innocuous challenge, something you see on the field 50 times a year, has turned into something significantly more serious," Hull KR owner Neil Hudgell told BBC Radio.
Hudgell said the Samoan international was a "hugely respected" family man.
"He has two beautiful girls aged six and four, and his wife is having another baby in July and they are at the centre of his first thoughts," Hudgell said.
"Having seen him in hospital, he is a very inspirational character – he is laid down with a smile on his face asking how everyone else is, how his teammates are getting on. Our focus is on Mose."

Former NRL player and reigning Super League Man of Steel Jackson Hastings is auctioning off a 2019 Salford jersey, with all proceeds going to Masoe.
The current highest bid is ?650. "Nothing but love for people donating [their] hard earned money to help a fellow human," Hastings wrote on Twitter. "Rugby league, best sport ever."

The Rugby League Benevolent Fund flew Masoe's family over to England from Australia after he suffered the injury.
Masoe joined St Helens in 2014, winning the Super League title in his first season. He returned to the NRL with St George Illawarra in 2016 but a knee injury prevented him from playing a game.
In 2017 the damaging forward moved to Hull KR, where he is signed until the end of next year.

Bloody hope he walks again. Got a newborn on the way too.

There’s a few fundraisers for him. If you can give, it’s be good
Hull KR coach Tony Smith has confirmed Mose Masoe's rugby league career is over and admits he faces a fight...
            ..it’ll be interesting to see

Truly awful news about Mose. I got to know him quite well during my days as the club's ground announcer - played a couple of rounds of golf with him too. Menacing in appearance but softly spoken with a heart of gold...I really do hope he recovers.

The upside for Mose is that he has a brain - during his playing days he worked as an accountant for one of the Roosters major sponsors and has some business acumen.

All the best to the big unit

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Hopefully you ladies n Gents have seen the footage Phil Gould posted 10hrs ago to his Twitter.

Was footage of Mose walking unassisted for 'X' amount of steps/ metres.

Awesome footage, inspirational and just all round feel good story given he was one of ours and a fan favorite.

Just 8 months after being told he'll never walk again, determination played a huge role, but he's a very lucky boy, some never get the opportunity to walk again.

Could only imagine how happy he and his family are.
