Again, I reiterate, I have a 16 year old niece. I don't want fingerbang anywhere near this club.

When will you get it through your head RC that developing players is far better in the medium and long term for the club than racing out and purchasing the flavour of the week. We've been doing that for decades with fark all success apart from one claytons trophy.

        Chook.
Waiting for this club to develop anyone decent is like waiting for Harold Holt to come home.

Hearing Hasler is not keen on Barba. I'd prefer we go after him than Stewart.

As for our own, there is Wells if he is still with us (can anyone confirm?), Moga may be worth a shot and the new kid Tuivasa-Sheck in a couple of years time.

The fact that Anasta has, and can in the future, slot into fullback means we don't need to be looking at anyone else....

We have the slowest outside backs in the comp. Making them even slower is not the solution.

No bait needed.....the hook was enough.

You're wrong. In the late 90's and early 00's and under Graham Murray particularly, we developed a number of young rep players that took us to 3 grand finals in a row - Crocker, Flannery, Heggarty, Wing, Bonetti, Minichello[s], Cusack, Ricketson, Fletcher. You could even add Fitzy, Toops, Cayless (Jason) to that list of developed players.

The problem was that once those developed players began to fade, move on, retire etc, we went back to your and Nicks "quick fix" mentality and purchased a heap of dogs, figuratively and literally! A stupid decision that we are only now recovering from. And all you want to do is swap from buying dogs to buying chip stealers. I don't get it!

Surely someone as supposedly footy savvy as you understands that it's extremely rare that a player brings the attitude, committment and dedication he has to the club that developed them to the club that purchased them?

                      Chook.

The way that I see it, as much as you may hate Smith & co, he is trying to get us back to developing young players.
It won't heppen overnight, but it will heppen.

I was wondering whether it was sarcasm, bait, or whether you were really that dumb.

Bloody great post Chook but many of the Chooks supporters as well as Roosters management don't have the patience required to let the young blokes develop. Look at Manly, they toiled for years to get the success they've had over the past few years, based around players they had developed (only to throw it away I know). I'm over the 'short term gain, long term pain' that overpriced dud imports have provided this club. It has been proven that they don't provide us with premierships, most only provide us with ugly headlines and a bad attitude within the club.

Give me committed players to whom the RW&B actually means something anyday. Players who are proud to wear our jersey for what it represents rather than players who just throw it on because they are highly paid to do so and wouldn't really give a damn or a clue as to what it means.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.
