Walking thru the lounge room last night I said to the 'footy fanatic' little lady seated there....
    "we're talking with 'The Fox'".
She turned her head slightly away from the tv and said dismissively...
    "can't tackle".
    Well there you go.

"If you can't tackle don't bother ringing up" - Jack Gibson.

Then I remembered that he's an "anthem rebel".

So my verdict now is ...no thanx.

Does the little lady also think we are doomed without Latrell?

I agree their salary is still not meeting their value however it is shifting.

The successful clubs took advanatge of a market condition where wingers were massively undervalued due to some outdated thinking.

This is becoming less and less true in today's current market. Clubs are now willing to pay 600k+ for the best wingers in the game and I only see that continuing to rise.

Breaking down old preconceptions takes time especially when they held true for so long but its 100% happening. Even the dinosaurs are starting to shift their thinking on the modern winger.

I just think its short sighted to say we shouldn't pay good coin for a top level winger. That premise is based on market conditions that just don't exist anymore.

I don't think Addo-Carr is the right signing but if Daniel Tupou comes off contract I would hate to think we would price ourselves out of he market because we weren't willing to pay good coin for a winger.

Doueihi's a good player! I was legit scared of his development last season (and I hate to admit that about anybody from Souffs). I'm surprised you'd go after a centre to play fullback when you've already got Gagai, Roberts and Doueihi on your books (and you're releasing your best forward through a fake injury in order to sign the said centre). It's madness and I hope Souffs pay for their disloyalty.

Latrell's behind me now. I'm very excited that Smith's gonna get a run. The downside of 2019 was seeing guys like Verrills and Smith play so well without there being room for them in our starting squad. It's awesome being able to reward their development and well... to keep them too!
I know Fittler rates doughie very highly and are good mates. His versatility would be handy as he can play from 1 to 6.
Rep footy and / or injuries will hurt us.
Plus we have 3 empty spots on the roster.

If Doueihi's willing to be a utility back, he'd be a great pickup.

I think he can play 1-7 and with injuries and rotation he'll get a lot of play time - most of the season, possibly all.

I wonder what kind of $ he is on, and what contract?

On the other hand, I agree that there's nothing more satisfying than developing an unsung player into an NRL hero - doesn't even have to be a youngster (eg Vunakece)

Aubo won't be battling to make the 17, he basically has a guaranteed spot

                  No.
                  She says I'm 'negative'.

She's bitterly disappointed that Latrell is no longer with us though.

                  She says "we'll be right".

I say "no Latrell, no hope, unless we can come up with some 'magic'".

I've become more hopeful lately after hearing some things Trent has said.

I know that we have Aubo and Jake, but Aubo will probably play his last season with us this year, leaving 2021 and beyond up in the air. Perhaps the timing in this regard could work out quite nicely for us.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

He missed the point from JB which was if he was willing to be a utility back.
Aubo Friend & SV are forwards. The point is about Doueihi & a utility back.

No, that's fair. I suppose a true utility can span certain forward as well as back positions, like an Aubo, for example. The backs would be easier for him to slot into. Regardless of positional placement, I think he would be a good addition for us, and we might get him with a strong, determined attitude (through frustration after how he may have been treated at Souths).

Mole reporting he is going to Souffs if Melbourne can get a suitable replacement. I don’t think they can though.

Alex Johnston or Gagai are suitable replacements
