  • Only option now for WCC is B Morris to centre, Icky value to wing as Hall is still enjoying his aussie holiday.

    • Icky is not good on the high ball where morris all showed us in the GF that he still has it! Body on the line in the air like Toopz! With the rule change NO CONTACT AT ALL IN THE AIR! wingers that are elite in the high balls are bloody GOLD

        • No announcement from the club yet BTW (nrl.com confirms we are yet to comment).

Depending on the grading, Smith could be out for somewhere between 1-2 months and 12 months. Given the season hasn't even started yet, Smith might only miss a few games for all we know (if that, with modern medicine...etc).

Guessing it's more serious than that but IMO we might see Billy play this season...

          • I Think it was reported as a rupture. Painful and probably 3 months till brace off. I feel for Smith

Fox quoting Robbo saying it was an ACL. No guarantees, but sounds like that's what it is. They're 6-9 months aren't they?

There are no medicines for knee ligaments.

Minimum 9 months, a rupture = entire season missed.

                    BLOODY 3 PEAT RIGHT THERE!!!!!
why oh why would we play Crichton, a back rower with no real speed in the centres when we can simply move Brett Morris there and play any number of young guns on the wing.... or even call on an international to play wing???? All I can see there is massive disappointment. Imagine Crichton trying to foot it with James Roberts one on one.

Oh he's Bubbas boy? Can see where he gets the flair from.
Yep Bubba's young fella, same names, they're both William Kennedy

I agree Angus is slow but the upside would be him running over Roberts

'Modern medicine' also refers to techniques of recovery, surgery, rehab etc.

The issue with Brett Morris is we are weakening a strength by playing him at Centre and as a guy who has played Wing all his life, he might have issues setting up his outside man. I can remember a game last year where he declined to pass to an unmarked Toops in the last couple minutes and he was tackled and we lost the match.

There is no real way to speed up the recovery of the knee via surgery now, compared to the surgery of the last so many years. There is the LARS technique but that involves I believe removing the ligament and replacing with artificial ligaments. You can return in a few months, however I believe the risk of this not working is much higher and if it doesn't, it is basically career ending.
