Exactly, that why for the time being I'm a bit sceptical. I suspect maybe in general its not too big a deal to the Roosters if they land Morris or not - or at least not right now

We need to get this done , the loss of latrell and then young Billy Smith has put us in a real pickle on the left edge. I have serious reservations about how Angus will go at left centre with his right hand carry and right foot step . Josh Morris like his brother is a terrific defender and fantastic on kick chase. I'm sure he would improve Toops defence with his positional awareness.

All true. We have little depth in wingers and centres and you can just about bank on Hall and Morris missing games through injury throughout the season. Angus is a very short term stop gap solution and our pack is weakened by his move. We definitely need another established first grader to replace Smith.

Don't think so, the likely hood of any team wanting him that late would be slim ,but I am starting to think we should move on , first it was Billy and he's out , the the bloke from Souths and he went to tigers , then Xerri , and now Morris , as much as it would be good , maybe we should just focus on one of our own

IMO the upshot of all this is that we released Latrell in order to avoid this.

Souffs and Cronulla have one thing in common... they both hoard rep-grade outside backs. Like we signed Teddy because we needed a FB! We then developed Latrell + Manu from within. We also released RTS, Latrell, Matto, Nene, Robinson, Momieovski...etc along the way. Souffs and Cronulla will both call us salary cheats by ignoring this and forgetting the fact they just frigging hoard players.

It's a pretty low blow hanging onto J-Moz when he wants to leave in order to:
a. Block us from filling a gap with a player they don't even want (primary consideration).
b. Keep him on the shelf just incase one of 5 other rep-grade (or similar) backs is out... knowing they won't be using him for much in 2020 and he'll probably just randomly walk off into retirement after the season without a send-off or anything.
