    • I have actually spoken to Farmer, his manager met with the club 3 weeks ago, they want him to stay, he wants to stay only just extended his contract with us, he has heard nothing from Easts, Sharks or his manager since, just read what is in the press, told me the islander guys at the club have an extremely tight bond and he is happy to stay and learn from JWH, SST, Liu etc.He lives in 15 mins from the shire so is a much quicker commute, sounded like he knew as much as us

      • I thought the Sharks needed to shed players to get under the cap not swap players? And if they’re going to demand a swap and the Roosters agree, why do we still have to wait another 4-5 rounds?

Thanks for sharing that with us all Cutloose6 and I for one am disappointed to lose Poasa but wish him well at the sharks if that is what eventuates. What confuses me is I don't see how this really helps the cap situation at the sharks unless Poasa is being paid close to or the minimum contract amount.

          • I wouldn't be that sad to see him go. He had a few first grade games last year and dropped the ball quite a bit. Fact is we have a good supply of forwards and a shortage of backs. Makes sense.

I share your confusion mightyrooster on both points. This situation also makes me wonder what shuffling Poasa off to the sharks (if it happens) will do to that tight bond The Thracian mentioned in his post above, and to the morale of the team generally. Guess they got over Pearce being sacrificed for Cronk.

The other thing is what this pursuit of Josh Morris says to players such as Ryan Hall, Matt Ikuvalu, and others who feel they could have played a part in plugging the hole left by LM's departure and Billy's injury.

Hall and Ikuvala aren't centres though and pushing BMozz to the centres would weaken a strength really?

Hall is a massive meter eater (averages 175 meters a game), Trent loves those types of players

Hall is hard to assess. He had no preseason and was coming back from a massive injury last year. On the other hand he is not young and has not made a huge impact at NRL level yet. I think he might do okay for us this year.

                    • It might be tough on Ryan Hall to get JMoz over here, but it's a safe bet that Hall will get some games through injury and rep games. If he kills it it might be JMoz v BMoz for left centre.

If the Sharks don't let JMoz go now they aren't doing him any favours. If Hall is fit and plays well this weekend, JMoz might start at the Bears.

No keep em coming mate. Thirteen wasn't responding directly to your comment, it was earlier in this thread.

I heard some time ago now that JMoz will be a Rooster in 2020. Still think its happening, but has got a bit messy.

                        • Hall would be the slowest winger in the comp & if he has to turn to chase the ball I goal he is no chance. Ikavaulu would be better choice IMO.

                          • Article about BMoz, but includes some JMoz commentary,

Sydney Roosters champion Brett Morris has labelled the club as the best he has been a part of, as uncertainty remains over his twin Josh joining from Cronulla.

With the start of the NRL season just three days away, a deal between both clubs is yet to be reached to allow Josh to be released from the Sharks and reunited with his brother at the Roosters.

And while Brett was initially vocal about wanting the Sharks to release him, he played coy on Monday when asked whether he thought a move was still possible.

"I haven't thought about it, to be honest," he said.

"It's not something that I'm wasting energy thinking about. Round one is coming this week so that's what I'm focused on."

The Roosters is the third club Brett has played for after starting his career at St George Illawarra alongside Josh, before joining him at Canterbury and finally landing in 2019 at Moore Park.

He says the professionalism of Trent Robinson's team and their commitment to more NRL success is why it's the right club for both he and Josh.

"I think just the people within the organisation, everyone wants to see you succeed and see you do well," he said.

"The professionalism, the staff that we have here are incredible. I think it's probably the best staff that I've worked under in my career."

The Sharks have a plethora of centres on the books for 2020 and Josh is tipped to play fullback for at least the first few rounds while regular No.1 Matt Moylan deals with a calf injury.

However, he would walk into the Roosters' vacant centre spot left by Latrell Mitchell, allowing Brett to stay in his preferred position on the wing.

It's an opportunity too good to pass up for the 33-year-old twins who are in the twilight of their successful careers.

"We obviously started our careers together and played together our whole lives and it was a childhood dream to play rugby league at this level," Brett said.

"If that were to happen, it would be pretty cool but it's not something that I'm spending a lot of time or energy on."

But as for whether this year is his last, Brett is not ready to make a decision just yet.

"I'm getting on a bit, getting a few more greys every year and the body obviously takes its toll on it. I'm still enjoying it," he said.

"I still love my job and getting out of bed every morning and I think, for me, it's something that I'll look at a third of the way through the year and make a decision then."

Having to turn and run back isn't his strong suit, that's true.

                              • Apparently Dugan 'trained' well today so he could well be playing this weekend.

I think Josh will be here sooner than later.
