        Unfortunately it's still looking like this is far from being done , NRL site says sharks haven't agreed to anything yet and are still exploring other options ,

            Slight change to Josh Morris departure date to
            @sydneyroosters
            - he will play first TWO games for
            @Cronulla_Sharks
            then leave. Transfer fee lowered to $40,000 because he’s staying extra week.
            A lot of coin for the sharks to lose to keep him one more week
            With a Transfer fee starting at $100,000
            I think Sharks lose $20 000 for every round they use him

              and if he gets badly injured they are thoroughly screwed and will have to get rid of another player. They're crazy. Risking 350k in the salary cap to hold onto him for a game or two. John Morris wanting to make a 'statement'.

              • Hi Guys, Congrats on getting your man. Defensively your backline just went up a notch but I will also say don’t underestimate what he brings in attack. Last year I was very pleasantly surprised with his speed for his age and his ability to get over the try line regularly was very impressive. He has great instincts in attack and defence and he’ll slot in to your systems very easily. He’s an ultimate professional and has handled this player tug of war really well.

                Having said all that I’m sure you can understand why we are so gutted he is going. Not that most of us saw our team as true contenders this season but we have a lot of young and very talented backs that would’ve truly benefited with another season of a pro like him around them.

                I only see one weakness in your very talented roster now. That is your depth in your halves. If Keary stays healthy all season you’ll be definitely giving the 3 peat a red hot go no doubt. But if Keary gets injured for a lengthy period or is not around finals time I don’t think a 3 peat will happen.

                Just on our salary cap management. True that we paid Dugan too much money and too long a contract and the same goes for Moylan especially for his injury record. But most of our players in our squad are pretty much in the ball park of what they are worth. Jury is still out on Shaun Johnson but he didn’t have a pre season with us last year and I think he’s going to be much stronger and fitter for it this season and he will surprise a lot of people this season. Having said that the main reason for our salary cap jam at present is our $350k deduction to our salary cap because of some breaches in some past seasons. We get that back next season and that will give us more roster balance.

                I wish you well for the season I don’t hate on teams like a lot of other people. As they say all is fair in love and war. All teams try to poach players of other teams rosters. We just have to move on and work hard with what we’ve got for this season and hope a lot of our young roster can take the next step up this season.

                  You'll be more shattered when we replace him with Xerri.

                    Thanks for good wishes mate and likewise.

                    You must be spewing at some of the mismanagement at your club. I have to say you always seem to give us a hard time especially at Shark Park.

                    Looking forward to seeing how young Kennedy goes for you guys, was dynamite in the CC last year.

                    • Unfortunately for you Shaun Johnson is a flat out myth. That was always going to be a dud buy. Worse than Dugan and Moylan, who I think will come good at some stage.

                        Nice post Shark fan

                        I think Robbo realised that after his brother Brett displayed a similar work ethic at the Roosters

                        In the Transit lounge days the Roosters were a mess, however now they have the house in order
                        It starts with the right people running the organisation
                        But it all takes time and tough calls have to be made
                        The Sharks players are very competitive and a good side
                        It just seems the people above the players in the organisation are letting the team down.

                        • Sharks have now released a statement confirming JMoz will join us from Round 3.

                          Also states Po has been given permission to negotiate by Easts.

                          • The Sharks can confirm they have granted Josh Morris’s request for a release from the final year of his contract to join the Sydney Roosters.

                            The 33-year-old will be released following the Sharks round two match against the Melbourne Storm.

                            After much internal discussion and following lengthy negotiations with the Sydney Roosters, the release request has been granted ultimately due to circumstances surrounding the Sharks salary cap, a situation which has been impacted by previous infringements.

                            Prior to coming to the decision to release Morris, the Sharks explored a myriad of options to ensure they remained salary cap compliant, with the NRL’s suspended $500,000 fine from past breaches the determining factor in the decision.

                            Sharks coach John Morris reiterated his desire to keep Josh Morris at the Cronulla club, as communicated in previous media statements, however he is understanding of the Club’s position and has agreed to the release request.

                            Coach Morris, while disappointed to see a player of Josh Morris’s experience leave the Club, was confident in the ability in his outside backs, with exciting young players in Bronson Xerri, Jesse Ramien and Ronaldo Mulitalo amongst those set to cover for the loss.

                            In the release conditions the Sharks will be paid a transfer fee.

                            The club will also consider their options in regard to pursuing Roosters top-30 player Poasa Faamausili having been given permission to negotiate by the Sydney Roosters.

                                Great to get Jmoz but it sucks if we lose Poasa. If we get injuries in the forwards we will be caught short.
