No announcement yet.
We're not signing a left centre - what is our strongest backline?

Haha he is very very average footballer
We renewed his contract for a year.
Don't think we'd be renewing his contract if we thought he was very average.
I'd be keeping him primed and ready to be selected in first grade at a moment's notice.

We play Kikau in round one.
They'll run him at our halves all night
Hope Flanagan's defence is up to the task.Last edited by bondi.boy; 02-07-2020, 12:21 PM.

Any winger can score tries, they're always marked by other wingers. The key will be Flanagan. If he is as good as people say he is, the Roosters do a threepeat in a cantor. With God mk2 in Cronk as his coach, I think he'll be great.

Aubusson in centrre !!!! Angus 80min combination back row with joey Manu!! Boyd interchange with nat butcher having 2 back rowers will next to eachother will tire boyd out! Keeping boyd fit through captain of everything is the key rep footy etc etc.....
that leaves 2 props an 1 hooker on the bench

That's the best backline we've got - end of story - although i would have given Billy Smith a shot over Hall if he was fit.
To me, the 1-5 is not our biggest challenge. Our pack def isnt a problem. The problem this year is the halves
What I would be interested in seeing is where Verrills will fit in. He is a really shit hot talent but we've got a congested pack. To be honest, you have a look at our pack and its the best in the competition. How we convert that into points throught the halves is going to be our challenge this year. If Keary gets injured we are very skinny and inexperienced in the 6 & 7.
I expect Flanagan to start at 7 but i wonder how Verrils would go in the halves - 6. Verrills, & 7. Keary to be frank would be worth seeing. To me he looked like he had the fundamentals to make a go fo the no.6.
I'm not Robbo and he knows better than me, but i'm certain he has a plan to get the likes of Verrills or Lam some game times in the halves early in the season because as it stands, if Keary goes down then so does 2020.

That is what I would go with. Not a big fan of Aubo at centre.Red, White and Bluesters!!!

Aubs is still an outstanding player, but at this stage of his career it is a mistake to have him a center. He is a No.12 second rower through and through.
Not just any second rower either, but 2 x in a row Grand Final Winner starting in the No.12!
You cannot underestimate what we lose when he goes to the centres.
We've got three experiened men in the 3/4 line - Morris-Toops-Manu (4 if you count Hall who may or may not get a start) + Teddy behind them organising the defence, so we can afford a relatively unproven player to join them.
I;d much rather see a young fella get a solid start to the year there. Build the succession plan....look at the bigger picture.
And im certain thats what Robbo will do
