After reading everyone's views an seeing our squad form! I really do think that either ika,Asu or Angus could be the centre we are all after!!
There is NO way Robbo will gamble the combination with Joey an Morris that has won a grand final!
Aubusson is Mr fix it but has just come off an injured leg ,so i would think that Robbo may nurse him through the year to become the most capped Roosters legend of all! That being said nat butcher may start at 12 if Angus plays centre with Aubusson coming off the bench!

Ikavalu and Asu are a great fit at centre ! Being shorter centres it would be like having a jennings type of centre, fast an explosive, brake a few tackles an offload to toops

I love your riddles mate but I'm trying to find where one has come to fruition.

          Hope you are right.

riddles aside , we need a proper centre , not a second rower filling in or a reserve grader filling in , original plan was Billy Smith to play, he is gone for season and he was back up to latrell who left ....that's 2 down ....I really hope robbo and Nick are working away at this ...m aubs, Crichton, ikavalu are not realistic options for a full season , I'm a little concerned not overly but I want this fixed ...it is the glaring hole in our roster

Maybe Nick Davis will be a revelation in the 9s.

Isabelle Kelly's gone to the Dragons, so no luck there.

Having a little less depth somewhere in the squad is a necessary evil, especially with all the recent contract upgrades.

And besides, i really don't think it's as bad as you make it out. The only 3/4 we have actually lost is Latrell. Billy Smith's injury was unlucky, and we've still got Ikuvalu + Tui is also a good talent. They've got to be blooded sometime, and what better way to be blooded than alongside the likes of Tedesco and Morris.

Aaron Gray is still without a club, could be worth a look.

I would be shocked if we stand pat and make no moves to shore up the centre position heading into the season..

Will be interesting to see how the next few weeks plays out!

The options are volatile .I think if we pull one off it may fill the void ...otherwise Im gonna have a chat with Billy Smith and him to play with crutches then put one on Latrells chin.

....and if they do nothing stiff shit......This club has shown last two years to be very resiliant to adversity.
They can adapt to any situation in a game and club life.
Look at how last year nearly every game we were without 3 up to 5 first graders bar the GF which was the strongest team we fielded all year .
If we sign nobody fair enough.
If Brett Morris has to play center for a few games whil e we blood in a young guy fair enough. If Ikuvalo gets a start..the team will adapt to their strengths.
Sing nobody would be a good call and a massive morale booster .
As Cords says we play to win comps. That will do me.

                                Agreed mate.

It's only one position and TBH I don't think it'd be that hard to find somebody from within who can defend better than Latrell. Not bagging 'Trell but his weakness has always been his attitude in defence. Nobody will miss his 'I don't give a fark' shrug after he's just misread an important tackle. He'll then make it up with a couple of crucial runs/tries but TBH a 33-35 year old Brett Morris could arguably be exactly what we need there over the next few years as he's got the attitude/experience to own it in defence.

Morris isn't a centre but he's a highly accomplished student of the game. If all he does is defend properly while we develop a replacement then he's a great option IMO. Not suggesting Latrell's mentally weak but IMO he's nowhere near where Morris is at. He still reacts to mistakes with a clumsy/childish attitude. Whereas, Morris will man up and take ownership of his role in defence. He's not particularly tall or fast and his hair's going grey... but he's seen everything and has been doing his job long enough to know his way around all the traps.

Souffs just had to 'medically retire' 2 players (including their best forward) and offload an excess fullback in order to sign a centre (when they had already signed Gagai and Roberts). Wayne's too emotional. He sees Darius and Roberts as his children who he NEEDS to protect from the harsh realities of the world. He'll shuffle all the chairs around for them instead of making the hard calls when needed. I'm glad we're not in that position. Wayne really... really... REALLY woulda wanted Jai Arrow (who's not that great anyway) a season early. IMO they will not be top-4 this season with this tactic. We will...
