This week weve had 2 drug cases, a drink driving the Parra winger and Vuna from Newc twice caught driving while disqualified. We know what will dominate the news though, a drunk bloke knocking on the wrong door.
I dont believe Freddys a good coach, but this is taking the whole trial by media a little too far IMO.

Yeah a real bad look but the sack ?
Remember Brett Seymour, walking home drunk, approached and filmed by two girls who sent the footage to the media. Fined, shamed, sacked for 2 wks.
On the other hand, the Aussie Captain, out drunk in Brisbane, assaults a security guard by picking the bloke up surrounded by 7 other players, denies it repeatedly, then the CCTVs shown and him and the coach (waynkerr) laugh about it and make jokes. The NRL does NOTHING.
This is just trial by media. This is NewsLTD legacy on our game.

As crappy as Matt John's behaviour 7 years ago, it was all done and dusted at that time. Our morals and expectations may have changed in that time but it doesn't mean we can re-examine what happened. What's next? John Raper fronting up to explain himself about the 1963 Kangaroo tour.
Just because some 2-bit current affairs program decides they need ratings they manufacture some half arsed sensationalised program about NRL players. Matt Johns is a dickhead for what he did, but he didn't deserve the public flogging he has copped. (Those parasites lied to the Newcastle Knights about their story.)
I have such a total and utter contempt for the quality of journalism in this country that it gives me no pleasure that "these incidents are occurring at other clubs". As a supporter of a club that has copped more than it's fair share its just an awful feeling. You love the club and although you don't care what other supporters think you find yourself defending something that really you don't want to. Feeble minded supporters of other clubs have finally found something that they can antagonise you on, because the rest of the time their club and team are so shit no one cares if they exist.
I think it's time we started harrassing the journos and over-reacting to every misdemeanour from a media representative. All the supporters forums should open up a room dedicated to journo's and their attrocities! "Terror in the newsroom!!". Photos and videos welcomed!
Let me tell you it will take a lot longer to go through their indiscretions than the NRL boys.

Look at Bourbon Bekky. How many drink driving charges, 4 I think.
Isnt drink driving a CRIME??? How many people have died cos of drink drivers???
I cant wait for her sunday moral rant.
Other that Roy Masters or Gus, I dont think theres a genuine League Journo out there. Maybe Nick Walshaw, he always come up with footy related pieces that have some substance to them.

Personal life
In September 2003 she was placed on a good behaviour bond after her third serious driving offence in three years. Police caught Wilson driving while disqualified in Sydney. Her case was heard in the Downing Centre Local Court on September 3, and she was placed on a bond for eight months. Wilson was previously disqualified from driving after a mid range drink-driving offence that was heard in court on March 26, 2002. She was fined $1100. Earlier, she had been caught drink-driving on October 23, 2000. Wilson appeared in court on December 5, 2000, and was disqualified from driving for six months from thet date and fined $500. [4]
Also, this is a response she gave in one of her blogs, she is too stupid to pick it up. Read it carefully. Matt, whoever you are we love your work!!

Im not going to pass judgement as to be honest I dont know what exactly transpired (The same goes goes for everyone outside of that room - ‘Hacks’ included). As police didnt charge him, we can only presume innocence from a legal perspective. Morally - Guilty as hell, and his poor wife is really paying the price for it (again).
In light of that I want to go briefly digress to a side topic: Given that he has been sacked/stood down, even though he has for not comitted a crime, Shouldn’t other Companies (in Particular Media) sack their staff if they commit a crime (ie not petty crime or traffic infringement etc)? Or is OK for them to turn a blind eye?

I think if you commit a serious crime, you have to be sacked.
