Of course all those who have never had a drink in their life have come out of the woodwork calling for his sacking.

I've said this about 3 times already; the dust needs to settle first.

If I was away on a work function and behaved as he did, I would expect the sack.. It is an embarrassment for the club, the players.. He should do the right thing and resign.. Otherwise hopefully Noyce is on his way to NQ to dismiss him.

Mate all we know is he knocked on the wrong door. He was drunk and wearing shorts. The police have cleared him of anything criminal. Why would you expect the sack for that??? Sure if theres more to this Id agree, but whats he actually done wrong???

This week weve had 2 drug cases, a drink driving the Parra winger and Vuna from Newc twice caught driving while disqualified. We know what will dominate the news though, a drunk bloke knocking on the wrong door.

I dont believe Freddys a good coach, but this is taking the whole trial by media a little too far IMO.

As crappy as Matt John's behaviour 7 years ago, it was all done and dusted at that time. Our morals and expectations may have changed in that time but it doesn't mean we can re-examine what happened. What's next? John Raper fronting up to explain himself about the 1963 Kangaroo tour.

Just because some 2-bit current affairs program decides they need ratings they manufacture some half arsed sensationalised program about NRL players. Matt Johns is a dickhead for what he did, but he didn't deserve the public flogging he has copped. (Those parasites lied to the Newcastle Knights about their story.)

I have such a total and utter contempt for the quality of journalism in this country that it gives me no pleasure that "these incidents are occurring at other clubs". As a supporter of a club that has copped more than it's fair share its just an awful feeling. You love the club and although you don't care what other supporters think you find yourself defending something that really you don't want to. Feeble minded supporters of other clubs have finally found something that they can antagonise you on, because the rest of the time their club and team are so shit no one cares if they exist.

I think it's time we started harrassing the journos and over-reacting to every misdemeanour from a media representative. All the supporters forums should open up a room dedicated to journo's and their attrocities! "Terror in the newsroom!!". Photos and videos welcomed!

Let me tell you it will take a lot longer to go through their indiscretions than the NRL boys.

Im not going to pass judgement as to be honest I dont know what exactly transpired (The same goes goes for everyone outside of that room - ‘Hacks’ included). As police didnt charge him, we can only presume innocence from a legal perspective. Morally - Guilty as hell, and his poor wife is really paying the price for it (again).

In light of that I want to go briefly digress to a side topic: Given that he has been sacked/stood down, even though he has for not comitted a crime, Shouldn’t other Companies (in Particular Media) sack their staff if they commit a crime (ie not petty crime or traffic infringement etc)? Or is OK for them to turn a blind eye?
