Flanagan's attempts were from the touchline. He struck them pretty well and didn't miss by much. He'll come good.

I'm more concerned about Friend and his service from dummy half.

I think when AC came to us he was a backrower capable of playing centre.
He has been converted into a much better footballer but as a work horse forward

/Its not about un learning what he has become but remembering what he was.

Yeah I’m not too fussed about the kicks he was a fraction off with 2 of them so I’m not too concerned about that looks like he’s going for precision over distance, Just striking up a couple talking points. Gus at centre is the worrying thing I will give him until at least halfway through the season to see if he comes good.

One thing I'll say of Flanagan is he has a sweet left to right pass. That one to Joey for his first try was a peach.

Iku was centre of the year in nsw cup a few years ago. Would slot right in
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results

I think you’ll find Hall to right wing and Bmoz to left centre for round 1 if Hall is fit.

I agree with you RoosterChick, but it depends on whether Ryan will be ready. $64 million question unfortunately.

I appreciate trying the experiment with Angus, but I don't think it is the right fit. He is more effective in the second row. We should not disrupt what has been working. JMoz is the obvious solution but, if that doesn't work out, then a combination of BMoz and Iku (if we have to) may be okay. I understand that Iku's form improved as last season progressed, but I am still not quite sure about him longer term. His size and defence are issues, but I am happy to keep an open mind on him this season, and be proven wrong.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I wouldn't write Gus off. Was it just me but it looked like the ref was only getting them back about 5m like the old days......or they were getting off their line ridiculously fast

Yes I over generalised by saying he had a skinny 10.
He had them back 5m and us 12m.

I thought Flanno was terrific at half and his goal kicking showed promise. You couldn't write him off as kicker after narrowly missing 3 hard shots. But it does look like he could use a bit more oomph.

If you use the Ryan Hall standard (if a guy gets injured playing in a position which he hasn't made his own he's hopeless) then Angus has his work cut out. Maybe worth another look, but doesn't look like a centre to me, and I'd go BMoz to left centre and Hall to right wing. That said BMoz was great today.

Some unwarranted comments on our goal kicking half. Debuts for his new club in a WCC game and had the responsibility of goal kicking. I recall our ex centre debut and he had the goal kicking duty and I seem to recall it wasn’t pretty.

The pass for Joey's 2nd try wasn't bad either.

He seems to have a good foundation in passing and playing into the line. Like all good halfbacks should.

Positive signs for the right edge. Early days though.
